To the OP, I would totally recommend you try one of your pb-2000 nearfield before making any further upgrade/purchasing decision.

Thanks. It does have the potential to be really insane if pushed. But I keep it down and level match it with the front subs that are behind the screen. I also xo it at 60hz and 99.99% of the time you don't even know its right behind you. Its also great because its an effortless bass . The sub barley even moves to reach the levels i watch at (pretty loud). I strongly recommend to anyone with a spot and multi subs to give it try.

That would be my only concern with putting a sub (or two) right behind me. I wouldn't want to notice it but I have plenty of room for more placement options.

You're not helping basshead!! Ha if only they were cheaper. Would love to hear 4 of these in my room. Perhaps it's an option in the future.

Hockeypuck... it can be done smile.gif

See my signature? I have a VTF-3-HO right against my couch and it plays perfectly with the dual PB13's I have. I have 1 PB13 up front between my left main and center speaker, the other PB13 in the back of the room about 30" from the back-left corner along the back wall (about 6ft - 7ft from the main MLP...), AND a Hsu VTF3-HO right against the back of my recliner sofa/2nd row seating/MLP and its just plain awesome, all that tactile sensation. The bass is everywhere in my room = hard hitting when called for, but you can't tell there is a sub right behind that recliner. I've had people sitting there and they couldn't believe there was a sub there.

Granted, it took time on my part to get all 3 subs dialed-in in unison and properly gain-matched to work, but the rewards are just priceless. smile.gif

Thank you Luis, that was quite helpful. I am very much after room enveloping bass and it's good to know it can be done.

Ahh I thought I've recognized that pic, you showed that to me over on HT Shack. I think I'm going to try that, ugh you guys are costing me $ but it's great advice. My subs are currently both on the front wall but I like the idea of having them surround the listening areas. I just don't want to localize any of them.

+1 basically the same experience. It gives the ability to reach any level of bass you want without pushing the subs hard. Like anything worth having its not as easy as setting up two upfront. But the rewards are worth it. I would never go back. If you put a 2000 right behind and one upfront you might be good to go. Worth a try

Basshead's setup picture tells a thousands words.... You owe it to yourself to experinment, take your time, and come back here to the forum for tips on how to accomplish it. I can tell you this much ... I had dual-subs along the front wall initially and while I liked it, there was a part of me that felt.... hmmm this could be better. In the end after some placement experimentation, I found that deploying the subs in diffenrent location across my room (particularly front and back ... ) worked best.

You owe it to yourself to experiment.... smile.gif
