Lol then why are you sending it back? tongue.gif

In part, to avoid upgraditis.  Almost everyone on these forums seems to have started with a sub, then upgraded a year later, then again a year later.

Without considering everyones first hand experience with this, I would have snagged a VTF-2.4 and called it a day.  But being mindful of everyones experience, I decided to go a bit bigger with the PB2000.  After some more careful research, and considering my room size, I decided that for a few hundred bucks, I would get lower extension, and double the output capability over 30 Hz, making a more future proof purchase.  I want to buy one sub and be content with it for a long time. I think I will get this from the XS30.

Other than that....I just wanted it :)  Been a while since i've had a hobby, and I can afford it, so I figured, why not?

A lot of people start off with a sub that is not enough for their room. Sounds like you don't have that problem.

You should save your money to buy the wife some new furniture so you can fit a second PB-2000 smile.gif

Not a good plan.  Our large u shaped sectional is new, bought it about a year ago, specifically for our current living room.  It is ideal for the room.  Still not 100% sure what I will do about a permanent second sub, but I suppose an XS15 nearfield might be an option at some point.  Tom said this would work well.  Had I kept the PB2000, I probably would have added a PB1000 as the nearfield sub.  In reality I am sure this would have been pretty stout in my room...but the allure of giving up a 12" for dual 15's was just too strong.

What you could have done is kept the PB-2000 and saved up for one of these for behind the couch. Dual 14" drivers smile.gif

Thats a pretty damn cool looking setup honestly, weird and  unique.  If I had the room to accommodate them, I would probably just get matching XS30's right now in espresso finish.  But, the compromise I had to make was to hide the "big box" in the corner and purchase a new arm chair to hide it.  My room layout really does not support a second large sub, even the XS15 will be a stretch, but I feel like it will ultimately be the best complement to the XS30 with the same shallow rolloff.  And I think it will provide some nice kick having it nearfield.

Maybe later in the year, just bought a new patio set with seating for 8(today in fact), a new washer and dryer(after 15+years on the old ones), and a round trip flight to Europe is coming up.  Can't get the savings account too low so after all this blows over and I get another couple months of living expenses stashed away I will consider it.

Yep. The Millenia Sub is a great form factor idea for fitting in tight places. Too bad none of the ID vendors have taken that approach for making a more slender fit sub. I guess it might pay for itself.

Honestly theres a part of me that just wishes I had bought a PB1000 and just rolled with it..I absolutely HATE to spend money...hard to come by and way too easy to go.  But like I said, its been a while since I've had a hobby, so I'm just spoiling myself a bit.

It is all good Bear...I am just ribbing you a bit. back when you first joined, you purchased a PB12NSD, only to say it would be a sub you would never need to upgrade. Shortly after you were then trading up for the PB2000 and said the same. Now where are we?? tongue.gif

I think you will like the XS30...should be worthy for a year before upgraditis kicks in.

I claim this is still my first sub, just taking me a while to finalize the purchase decision.  Thats my story and I'm sticking to it. :)

I just read through this entire thread and now I want an XS30. Originally I was looking at replacing my PWS505 or pairing it with a PB2000 but now it maybe the XS30 all because this.
Bear how is the XS30 been working out for you? It should be broke in and dailed in by now.
