Is there a significant difference between the PC12+ and the PB2000 to explain the $400 difference ?

Yup. A very quick read of the two subs' product pages shows that the PC12-Plus has:
- twice the power (800W vs 400W);
- a better driver;
- multiple tuning modes; and
- adjustable EQ.

The PC12-Plus seems to have about 1.5x the output of the PB-2000. And the specifics already mentioned

Not quite twice the power.

PB-2000 is 500 watts RMS continuous. You are thinking of the PB12-NSD that it replaced, which was 400 watts.

My bad: Yes, I was thinking of the PB12-NSD when I typed out my comment.

Larger port area (in 16Hz or 20Hz tuning)
