Auto sub switch

I ended up with a free legally Klipsch 12" sub. Got it all hooked up but the auto switch isn't working. I have to put the sub to ON. The problem with trying to get it fixed under warranty is not having a proper receipt. Does anyone know how to fix or get a replacement switch that I can replace myself?

Raise the volume a little on the sub and rerun the room calibration software.

I had it in the middle so I tried 3/4 and full... no luck.

You could try lowering the volume on the sub and turning up the AVR's sub trim since that may give the auto-on circuit more signal.

Or use a switched power strip, or just leave it on. For my subs I actually use an X10 system with a trigger module from the AVR and appliance (20 A) modules to power on the subs.

can't using a stereo-to-mono RCA converter help increase the voltage from the receiver and improve auto-on function?

imo, sending a sub back to get auto-on fixed isnt worth it.....just leave it on all the time

^^^ Yes, on some subs, depends upon the circuit design...

This sub is brand new, the problem with the recpt was I purchased a R-115sw and was sent the R-112SW. My recpt says R-115sw and the company told me to keep it and is sending me the one I ordered. I'm going to put in a repair order but it's showing the wrong sub. Obviously for free I'm not going to complain

Get a y-splitter and split the signal into both inputs on the sub. If that doesn't do it, just leave it on.

Sidebar: What do you think about the R-112SW? The R-115SW seems to be reviewing really well, but I haven't seen anything on the smaller sub in the series.

I like it a lot. I thought my old sub was pretty good and ran it for 15 years but this put out lower sounds I hadn't heard before and they were clearer. My R-115SW won't be here til next Tues so I'm pretty anxious.

After 24 hours it started working... just hope it's not something that could start a fire down the road.

Would you recommend it for the price, or do you think something by svs or outlaw would still be better? Loving the reference premiere speakers, and wouldn't mind having two matching subs if they're comparable to similarly priced offerings from svs

I'm not really qualified to answer that. I just know that they made a big difference to me. I was unimpressed with my "G" speakers but this sub brought the sound all together.

Thanks for the impressions! If you wouldn't mind dropping in with a brief comparison between the R-112SW and R-115SW when you receive it, that would be really appreciated. Thank you so much!

Okay, finally got the R-115sw hooked up and had a few days to play around. In my opinion had I gotten just the R-112sw I'd had been just as happy. They are both excellent and obvious by the specs the 115 does play a little lower. I just never knew before how much difference the sub made to the overall "system" making the smallish front & sides sound better.

Thank you! This was exactly what I was hoping to hear. Glad that you're liking it!

Hi jvkahl, reading reviews and forums that some experienced "Humming" from R115SW.
May I ask have you experience the same with your new sub?
Planning to get one, and it's 899€ over here in Europe.

Thanks for your time!
