powersound s1500 vs rythmik F15HP/E15HP

Hi

I have a rythmik F15 in a HT set up but now want to add a sub to a mostly music set up in a different room. Speakers are Ascend sierra towers with RAAL tweeters. I listen mostly to jazz and classical music with an occasional bluray movie. I want the sub to be disciplined with music but get aggressive with movies.

I could get a rythmik E15HP but want to try other subs too. I came across powersound audio with color choices other than black. since this is a family room I want to try out their s1500 in espresso color. The two way return shipping is fantastic which is what I will use to try it out at my place but just wondering if anyone compared sealed rythmik to sealed power sound and were happy in a music set up. I am not chasing huge SPLs but I don't want a sub which cannot blend in properly with the mains. I will use a AVR with Audessey XT32 to do bass management.

Thank you for you opinions.

With a trial period and free shipping both ways what's stopping you from giving the PSA sub a try? Worse case you call Tom and its picked up from your front door. In the meantime you have your replacement on the way. I suspect that you will be happy with the PSA. Lot's of great options in ID land right now.

Insanity. LOL. I am SURE I am going that route as explained in the post. You know how the itch is to know if anyone else did the same earlier. I know I have to hear and decide after hearing at my place.

How about SVS SB13 Ultra (free shipping both ways). Great sub for music in the price range

Why not try F15 in your "music" room, The sealed Rythmik are awesome in a 2 channel mode setup.

I do not think PSA includes free shipping both ways for the wood veneer being they are built to order. I would order the standard finish, try it out for 30days, If you like the sub but not the finish, send it back and order a custom veneer s1500. That being said, I bet you will find the standard finish is very tolerable.

Maybe because the OP said he wants to try "other" subs...just a hunch.

Have you considered moving the Rythmik to the music room since they are very musical and getting a ported sub for the HT? The PSA performance will be very similar to the Rythmik you have currently have so more of a lateral move. How large is the room and budget?
