Thanks to both DLA26 and Garnuts for seeding and trying to help.
But I guess I'm dumb as dirt, because I still find no Peers.

I've tried on 2 different computers, 2 different download programs, where other downloads work fine, but these still show 'No Peers'.

2015 Bass Demo Disc
The ULTIMATE Bass Demo Disc Vol.1.iso
The ULTIMATE Bass Demo Disc Vol.2.iso
Best of Disc

When I look at status of trackers inside the torrents, I get:
Connection failed or Could not connect to tracker.

but this is getting off topic of this thread, so i'll keep looking on my end.
thanks for the offers anyway though.

Try enabling DHT.
Hang in there. And don't hesitate to ask for help. That's why we're here.

I should mention that I'm not seeding all of the time. When I start up my computer in the morning I sometimes don't bother to fire up my torrent client. If you PM me a time when you know you'll be downloading, I'll try to make sure I'm seeding during that time.

(And I'm seeding right now - 1/6/17 at 8:22am PT - for what it's worth. )

LastButNotLeast, you ARE my hero.
DHT did the trick. I was not aware of that option. But thanks a ton.

Subscribed to this awesome thread...Downloading to my desktop computer now with the recommended torrent program. Wondering if I still need to burn it to BD? If not possible just yet, I can hook my computer to AVR or 3490 through coaxial...will that work?

Thanks in advance.

IIRC, the file is an .iso file, meaning that it's the full image to be burned to the disc. You media software will not be able to play it directly, so yes, you will need to burn it to a disc.

There are other videos out there that will be in .mkv, .mp4 or some other format. Those you can play directly through pretty much any media software, but if you just put those on a disc, the blu-ray player won't be able to interpret them. In that case you'd need to create an .iso file out of it first and then burn that image. I use tsmuxer (free software you can find online) for this, and then I use imgburn to burn the actual disc.

I've only done it once or twice, so I'm by no means an expert. I just did a lot of google searching and was able to patch enough stuff together to get it to work.
natchie likes this.

If you use your computer to play BDs now, this will read just like a disc (I use PowerDVD).
You can use Virtual Clone Drive to mount the iso:
https://www.redfox.bz/
imgburn will convert the iso to bd file format.
http://www.imgburn.com/
You can play the individual m2ts files in the "stream" folder with most player software, you just won't have the menu structure.
Assuming computer to avr with hdmi, otherwise you probably won't get hidef.

Yeah, right now, no HDMI outlet from the computer so i will be missing out on the HD tracks...ok, will have to get rolling to burn the files on a BD...Thanks to all

I keep getting a "former volume not mounted" message in utorrent whenever I try to download any of the AVS demo disks. I also don't have a burner so please someone willing to burn me a copy of any of the demo disks here on AVS please pm me. I will gladly donate to you for disk cost and shipping or to any charity you choose. Thanks to all the demo creators for their hard work.

If this is happening with ALL the demo discs (or even many of them), then you need to change a setting in your torrent program (see post 452, above, for example).
Some of the much older discs may not be seeded regularly, but the newer ones should be readily available.

Do you have the files in the root directory (not in a folder)?

You have to load the torrent file into a torrent client (uTorrent, etc.) to download the actual files.

Exactly what Alan P said. Once downloaded with uTorrent, then you can send the files to your USB and insert into your Oppo.

I have downloaded it with a torrent and have about 44 gb on a usb-stick, so that´s no problem.
The problem is when my Oppo BDR-95 is trying to play from that stick.......he can´t "see" the files.....

Can the Oppo "see" any other media file (mp3, etc.) on that thumb drive? If not, it may be formatted in a file system not compatible with the player. I forget which the player supports off the top of my head.

The USB stick probably needs to be formatted FAT32 or exFAT to work with the Oppo.

Move the m2ts files from the stream folder in the bdmv folder out of all the folders to the root directory.
Please.
And don't be alarmed when not all of them play; some of them are "filler" for the disc structure. You can delete them afterwards if you like.

Is there some other place you can post the Demo Disc? Maybe Usenet?
If it was on Usenet, it looks like it was deleted, only the nzb file shows on Binsearch.
Collection is over a year old and shows incomplete.

I'm struggling with getting Shareaza to work again.
It used to work, but I haven't used it for years and now I have a router and a different ZoneAlarm Firewall.
I'll guess I'll keep plugging away.

Should I be using something better than Shareaza ?
Plus, I am confused- is it the "2015 Bass Demo Disc" or is there an updated 2016/2017/2018 version?

.

I think most of us are using some flavor of micro torrent.
My preference, recommended to me here, is 2.2.1, before lots of bloatware was added:
http://www.oldversion.com/windows/utorrent-2-2-1-2
Other AVS group demo discs are listed here; the older ones may not be seeded much anymore, but check the threads linked:

micro torrent worked great, no fuss at all. Pretty large download, I copied the iso file to a USB hard drive and can watch using my WDTV media player, but it doesn't give me the menu or easy navigation. I need to get some 50GB blank disks though. Maybe I'll extract the iso into mkv files in the meantime.

This may not be the place to ask, but how do you use a magnet file with micro torrent? I had not heard of them before today.
I looked at my Shareaza download queue (it doesn't work now) and there is another file I wanted to get. I can "get the url" and it looks like it's in the format of the magnet file in the first message in this thread. I don't recall where I got the link to open it with Shareaza, but I would like to try it using micro torrent. TIA

Magnet files work the same way. You can use "Open with" or set your system preferences to link that extension to utorrent.
I strongly suggest a small pack of rewritable bd discs:
https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odk...table&_sacat=0
More expensive and slower, but 50gb coasters are no fun.

Thanks.
