Thumbs up 2015 Bass Demo Disc

2015 Bass Demo Disc

Torrent link

Magnet link

magnet:?xt=urn:btih:081b2539c87c5b66a5d5fa2d3659ce dddde3f4db&dn=2015+Bass+Demo

VCD (Virtual Clone Drive) Download Here Use this to mount ISO.

IMGburn is the program to use to burn to disc. There are others i.e. Nero etc but IMGburn is free and just always works. **** Make sure you UNCHECK "verify" **** There may be no technical justification either way. A known fact with this disc is, verify will result in a failure. With verify unchecked, the disc will burn successfully.

Thanks to @superleo for the slipcover and disc design

I am interested in starting a demo disc for the bassheads on the forum to include movies that were released in 2015. There have been previous discs with the all-time standouts already (TIH, Oblivion, HTTYD, OHF etc...) So reaaly trying to limit to 2015.

I would think with this year's releases, a new disc can be created with current content to satiate those needs for room shaking, SO (significant other) pissing off levels of bass.

As a constant lurker and infrequent poster in the http://The New Master List of BASS i...equency Charts thread it appears, to me at least, there is a plethora of new content waiting to be added.

I will have to preface this by saying, I WILL IN NO WAY BE TRYING TO COMPETE with @scubasteve2365 in terms of menus and slipcovers etc... With a 4 month old, a 4 year old and an addiction to Battlefront I will not have the time to replicate that portion of the project. If another is up to the task I would be more than grateful to include their contribution.

What I am aiming to do is include lossless audio and video clips in bluray format possibly in both folder and ISO format. Some clips will include, I hope, the Atmos track.

Potential Movie list

Potential movie list

Going through the movies with bass thread, this is a list that I think a number of clips could be chosen from.

Agent 47

Antman

Dragon Blade

Fantastic Four

Heist

Insurgent

Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation

Mad Max: Fury Road

Pixels

Pan

Poltergeist

I would include the Dolby Atmos demo (the one with forest and thunder) from 2014...

Also clips from:

Pixels, Jupiter Ascending, and Insurgent,
Black hole scenes from Interstellar,
Sandstorm scene from Mad Max Fury Road,
The T-Rex - Indominus Rex fight scene in Jurassic World,
The Hoover Dam scene from San Andreas,
Underwater Scenes from Mission Impossible Rogue Nation,

Just my 2 cents...

Speakers: L/C/R: JTR Neosis 212HT. Surrounds: Jamo C103, KEF Q100, Polk Audio RTiA3.
Subwoofer: JTR Captivator 4000ULF.
AVR: Denon AVR-X4400H. TV: Samsung UN75NU8000FXZA.

FS: Jamo C103, KEF Q100 and Polk RTiA3

Do you have any time stamps for the scenes?

No, I don't.

I posted my list first, thinking that you were looking for ideas on which movies to include, after reading the 1st post. Then you added the 2nd post with the candidates...

So is this a disc you are gonna make available? Are there any others out there. I need some good demo discs for when my 21's and 18's enter my system!! And what format? Bluray? Dvd? What about the audio? DTS HD Master?

First of all, thanks so much for taking the time to do this. I can't wait till the disc is ready for DL.
I only have one scene that I remember since I recently watched the movie: Tremor 5: about minute 57:20 to 57:50.

It's gonna be structured so that you can either burn the whole thing on a bluray and play it like a regular bluray, or that the individual scenes (in m2ts extension) can be played from your HTPC.

It will have the uncompressed video and audio, ie same quality with that of the source bluray.

Gotcha. I'm actually meeting a guy this weekend to maybe buy his htpc. The case looks nice so figure I will gut it and build it with a new motherboard, processor, and graphics card. Guess I should get a Bluray burner too. Here is the case I'm looking at.

So basically you are paying $50 for a 2nd hand case... Not exactly a great bargain.

Besides, it looks kind of small. I would get a case that can hold at least 3 HDs + an optical drive...

There might be heat problem with small htpc case. I would just use the small to medium regular computer tower case

All the reviews I've read about that case said it has really good cooling. But I'm no expert by any means.
May take your advice and just use a regular tower.

I had htpc case (Silverstone) that is bigger than the one you are looking at and it had heat problem. Depends on how many hard drives, what you have under the hood though. I went with the regular tower that is way cheaper, way cooler and never look back.

Even the lowest hardest hitting bass in music (dubstep, correct me if I'm mistaken ) doesn't dig as deep as the bass in most movies. Music gets down to the 30's. Movies, if mixed correctly, get down into the single digits. Low enough where you can't even hear it, but if your system is capable, you WILL feel it.

Once you wander around these parts for a while you will see there are some bass connoisseur's (popalock, notnyt, Fatshaft, and many others )who have ridiculous systems that easily hit harder and lower than any car. A car can get more SPL because of the confined space, but it isn't all about SPL.
I only have 2 18"s. There is a speaker out in the wild now, the 1899 from DIYSG, that has 2 18's with a 12" mid. LCR means 6 18's and 3 12"s that is just the mains

That shouldn't be too hard, as most scenes will be action oriented.

another con to that case is it looks like you would need a low profile graphics card and that limits your card choices.

I have 2 silverstone cases, GD08 and GD05.

I dont have any heat issues but I did add 3 140mm fans to both of them.

i like them because they look plain and like a receiver, and also can fit full size video cards. both of mine have HD 7950s with no issues

Not 100% but I thought the kiddo movie Ender's Games has many low blow scenes.
How's about the "Flight" Denzel Washington's movie?

They do, but I'm limiting this disc to 2015 movies. (counting John Wick and Interstellar because the blu's were released in '15)

Thanks for the advice. I will shy away from that case. I had actually tried posting in the HTPC forum but didn't get too much advice. Wanted to know what motherboard, processor, and graphics card I should get. Although I might try some pc gaming with it, it is mainly to watch movies into my A/V system. So it will need to output Dolby True HD & DTS MA formats over the hdmi output so I can hook it to my pre/pro.
I use an Oppo for BluRays but have the occasional file ripped from bluray on my pc that I would like to enjoy.
Sorry to hijack your thread. Hoping I can get a system up and running by the time you make this available.

The gaming portion will be the monkey wrench in the works. Without a need to game it will be pretty straightforward. But once you want to game everything needs to be reevaluated.
Just about any newer (last 5 years) mb that has hdmi out will also output the HD audio formats. The reason you probably didn't get too many responses is suggestions haven't changed much. If you only need to use it as a htpc your choices will be very easy. Unless you need 3d iso support, which is another wrinkle.

You may want to contact avs member maxmercy. He has created movie files with "restored" bass levels:

I would love to see them on a demo disc.
