This is correct. Some vendors also give out rebates based on volume. I'm not saying Jeff gets these rebates but I know of other companies that get volume based rebates which is pretty common.

He was making the most out of the material.
My calculation is he still made money but not what he needs to make. Point remains if he can come up with a solution to offer a low tune 15" sub for under 1500.00 it will sell. I didn't say it had to be the exact same components as the 1200XS.

There is also Emotiva ET-3:

In regards to power consumption, when you go from 1 sub to 2 subs, the power consumption halves. When you double the number of subs, you gain 6dB more output -- 3dB from double the power and 3dB from double the drivers. Therefore, at the same output, each sub now produces 6dB less output. This meaning each sub will consume 1/4 of the power. Two subs = 2 * 1/4 = 1/2.

Thanks.

That was a bonehead question anyway, as I neglected to check if the subs had trigger inputs.

The older SubMersive amps do not have them, so I use the IoT relay on those units.

I too would like to see some products under $2000, but my understanding is that making product in that price range is too competitive.

Look what showed up today. Tiny little guy...Surprisingly a little smaller then my PSA's.

The sub was packaged well and everything looks good. The driver is beastly looking for sure...The sub is ice cold so I am going to go finish up yard work and let it warm up for a bit before powering it on.

Congratulations, basshead81!

I would probably let it warm up a little bit longer than that if it's ice cold.

Fired it up a little bit ago. Amp is silent no hum everything works perfect. Been playing some random music that dips into the low teens. Surprisingly it blends well with my PSA subs. Didn't even run Audy, just hooked it up and it sounded pretty good. Have all 4 subs running at the moment. Gonna watch a few flicks tonight and see how things sound. Probably won't mess with measurements and/or Audy until I have some time to myself.

BTW, My kids approve of the port wind! Lol

This is why I need to have my JTR pointing at the MLP!

I am surprised that you still get the port wind with 4 subs running though.

My JTR sub experiment appears to be a bust. Fedex couldn't get them shipped to me because of a slight discrepancy in the address. Rather than try to rectify it, they just shipped them back. I just tracked them and they are back in Illinois. Unreal. They wouldn't let me pick them up either, they were 20 minutes from my house. I am not even sure I want a pair of subs that have been moved all around the country for what will surely be 2 weeks, especially handled by Fedex.

My advice, get subs big enough that they ship freight, those guys are on point!

That's what I was thinking, unless they overnighted the beasts. If they did send them back, god-willing I am going to order 2 RS2's instead and go freight!

Yeah, let it break loose a bit then run Aud on it/them to gain better extension before making your real eval. You know what to do.

That's awesome to hear basshead. I'm glad the sub is working beautifully with no hum and it's blending so well with your other subs. I think it's really cool that there is a small LT sub that can work in your room... Every ported sub owner needs a LT sub in their house, they're very very addicting. Enjoy!.

I was running the sub pretty hot with my current calibration playing a song that had some 10-16hz with the MV around -12 and LF was set max. With the sub amp gain dialed back to reasonable a level there wasn't any. I just wanted to hear the what the sub sounded like by itself for a bit before half way integrating it into the system.

I watched Godzilla KOTM and RP1 last night at MV-18 and it was intense... even after dialing all the PSA subs down a click to 10:00 on the amp gains and the JTR was set to 12:00. It still sounded a little hot but pretty good overall. On certain scenes that had a lot of ULF, I would replay with the JTR switched off and on just to see if I could hear a difference. With just the PSA's it sounded pretty damn good. However when I turned the JTR on I could feel even more low end and it increased the room pressurization. I won't say night and day, but definitely noticeable.

This is all preliminary of course. I haven't even re-calibrated the system yet and properly set the levels. Plus you have to get past "the shiny new toy" phase and then start making real comparisons.

Thanks Hop. Yea I am surprised it is integrating as well as it is being the port tune is a bit lower but it seems to be in phase because if I adjust the Delay then all the ULF disappears. The walls, windows, pictures, and blinds go from shaking to nothing.

That is crazy! I got shipping confirmation from FedEX on Friday that my sub shipped and would be here by Monday @ end of day...low and behold it showed up yesterday before noon! That is going from Wisconsin to Indiana.

I hear you with that, I don't think angling your current 4000ULF towards MLP is going to change much due to the omnidirectional nature of the bass produced by the 4000. What about a 2400ULF on it's side behind the LP or something similar, I think that would satisfy. What are you trying to achieve Chucky, have you considered the BOSS platform? Sorry if I missed the reason for this move.............

My comment was replying to basshead81's comment "BTW, My kids approve of the port wind! LOL"

Because of the potent port wind, even if I go dual, I need to have at least a Cap 4000ULF at the front with both the drivers and port facing the MLP. When I was holding the Rythmik FV25HP for a friend, I moved it around the room but unfortunately did not find a good complementary spot for the 2nd sub in the available floor space. And yes, I tried behind the MLP. This means I will either have to move my speakers or rearrange my furniture. The location will determine the form factor I should go with for my 2nd Cap 4000ULF.

Man that sounds super aggravating dude. Ya freight companies seem to be a lot better. Had my JTR subs and JBL speakers and also my theater chairs come via freight from different companies and each was pretty damn good.

Received an email from Jeff P and he says that it was indeed a tracking error and they should be here monday, pending that I can get enough time off of work to spend part of the day here to sign for the beasts. I know how I will be spending my Thanksgiving though....boom!!!!!

When you had the 25HP behind the MLP how did that work out, I think if that works for you rearranging furniture or relocating speakers would be worth the effort, having figured out the form factor of the 2nd 4000 I believe you'll be very pleased with a NF (behind LP) location. I think I remember you posting a FR of the single 4000ULF, with duals you'll be set and need for nothing after that....just thinking out loud.

Greg
my Subs were shipped last friday and scheduled following tuesday.
on monday morning, i received tracking update i would get them that day.
at 9:30 i got text msg one of my package has been delivered and it was wrong location which i never heard of.
called fedex and start investigation of wrong delivery while other packages shown on their way.
hours later fedex guys show up and unload 2 of 3 packages from the truck.
it was multiple shipment and he found one of package missing when i signed.
when he about to close rear door on truck. i saw one package looks similar to what i just received then i stop him to ask if the package was mine.
i was told that last package was not scanned when left the facility so funky tracking issue occurred.
now i received all 3 packages and only took 2 business days. actually jeff dropped friday after noon so technically next business day delivery.
i didnt take them to basement yet since they are 330 lb (got my back hurt while moving 96" wide kitchen counter top by myself) but pretty sure they will be awesome.
hope it was simple tracking glitch and get it soon.

Fedex has gone downhill. My 1200XS was shipped last Wednesday for Friday arrival. I took the day off work to be home for delivery. Truck stopped at my house at 10:30 am, and sat there a few minutes and took off, so i thought maybe he was dropping something at the neighbors or just looking for directions, I figured he would come back. At 3:45 i get the email that package could not be delivered because nobody was available to sign, and they never even came to the door. The lazy ass just didn't want to deliver it. by the time I was transferred to the manager at the local station, the driver was already gone. They wanted me to drive 25 miles and pick it up. After I had a minor meltdown they agreed to have a driver bring it out Saturday morning. So all is well that ends well.

Upstairs Living Room, Music 2.1 - Anthem MRX520 - Pair of Chane A1.5's, - SVS PB 1000 - Projekt Debut turntable - LG 55" B8 OLED
Bedroom 2.1 - Denon AVR740h - KEf Q300 Bookshelves - Klipsch R-10SW - TCL 49"
