Duel Outlaw Ultra X-12

I am waiting for them to arrive. Is there anyone else that has gone that route? If so how do you like them?
Any input on these would be greatly appreciated.

I couldn't resist. fritzstenzellra, the Ultra-X12 is a good sub, especially if you got in on the 1K/pair sale. What size is your room and what will you be using them for?

I have two of them. Each on the front corners. One is connected to the receiver with a cable and the other with a wireless receiver. Both are level matched and I use Audyssey to EQ to the subs.

They are in my living room that is open to the kitchen, upstairs and dinning room. Very big so will never get that pressurization feeling but they sound very nice though. They are very clean, not boomy (with EQ), and sound great with music and movies. I've played Interstellar on it, Edge of tomorrow, etc. and I never hear any port noise or anything like that. I use both ports open, so it only goes to 25hz. Since my room is too large, I figure the 20hz 1 port configuration is pointless and I wouldn't even notice it anyways. I listen -15 volume about 10-12 feet away.

The subs are not run hot. When I play with just 1 subwoofer, I have to run it hot by 3-5db. Two subs and I am okay with it leveled match with the front speakers. As a matter of fact, when I try to run it hot with dual subs, it actually sounds weird. Maybe I just got used to not running it hot? Who knows.

By the way, my dual Velodyne Impact 10 inch subs in my medium sized room sounds just as good and has better room pressurization! And they only go to 31hz or so! The size of the room really affects the quality of the speakers/subwoofers.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the reply Guys. Im assuming all guys. My living room is 12 x 18 with 8 ft ceiling open to small dining room and kitchen.
Its a 7.1 system with Anthem MRX 300 as prepro and Outlaw 5000 doing 5 channels. MRX does the other 2. B&W CDM 9NTs L&R
B&W Center with B&W 602 s3s for the rear. Its not a large area and Im hoping to be able to go low to at least 20 herz with them. I dont want the boomy bass im getting with my B&W sub now.

Those dual Outlaws will be a nice setup

Be sure to experiment with placement. Many people assume that putting both in the front soundstage is the way to go, but that is often not the case. Choose the position for one in the frontstage that sounds the best, and then experiment with the other along the side walls toward the back of the room or along the back wall.

Thanks for the tip cel4145. They came yesterday. For the time being im going with this cause of room layout.
THESE babies really add to the movie and listening experience. So far im very pleased with them. I will be moving them around as soon as I get longer cables. They did escape the wrath of the fedx drivers. I waited all day and as soon as I called Fedx and got through all the automated **** and was speaking to some woman from India which I couldn't understand! The drivers pulled up. As Im standing on the front porch Im watching them unload the back of their truck. It was a very large truck and I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The back of the truck was about 4 feet high to the ground. One guy was standing there with his dolly and then I see the first box being pushed out of the truck and right off the back crashing to the ground. They both started laughing ! They didn't see me standing there. I yelled out to them WTF! Those are expensive. They both shut up and were silent after that. They handled the second one very carefully. Then he asked me if I wanted help carrying into the house and I told NO! You've done quite enough. Bottom line is. Thank you Outlaw for the packaging you have. Both subs are in good condition. FEDX you are a JOKE!
anyways
Merry Christmas everyone!

I'm surprised they had two guys. Probably running seasonal driver helpers. I would have not only made them take them into the house but I would have made them stay there until I unboxed each one to inspect for damage. No excuse for that kind if crap, particularly with two guys on the job.
