Watching it later this month in IMAX for my bday, let us know how it holds up!

I'm super excited they're building an IMAX just 20 minutes from my house that's expected to open in time for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, so I won't have to make the 90 minute commute to Tulsa anymore. I'd love to check out a Dolby Cinema too someday, but I won't hold my breath on ever seeing one locally.

Going to the bank then catching the 7 Pm showing . 90 mins drive is insane man it is way too far so that IMAX will be for you and your pocket.

Cool Wofta!!!

The Wife Out for the Afternoon Feature#2 is Transformers: The Last Knight.
I was a bit negative with my first impressions, so decided to give it another chance.

This time in 4K/UHD Dolby Vision (instead of HDR)
with the new Oppo 203 in the chain and the volume up to reference level ATMOS 7.4.4

Freaking Nutz! everytime the Bass hits,
the motion sensor in the Oppo remote lights up the back-lite buttons lol!

DV sure Rocks my 65" OLED!

I feel like a little kid that hit the lottery LMFAO

Just got done watching "Insurgent" because of this thread and the movie itself was... meh.. I neither liked it or disliked it, really. I usually don't like an all teenager movie, but.. meh. Anyway, I liked the bass, but it wasn't very effective in how it was implemented. It was tight and couch shaking though.

I did watch TF TLK earlier today though and god damn. It ticked all the boxes for my bass-glutton! It had my motion sensor NAD remote light up all the time! I just wish they could've made a Transformers movie for a more grown up audience.

I've only been watching Blurays instead of streaming movies for a few weeks. Last night, I started a pot of coffee after throwing Drive into the PS3. It brewed a 12 cup pot of coffee and I drank 2 cups before it finally got to the main menu. Could have just fast forwarded but it's funny seeing previews for movies that came out 5+ years ago that I've absolutely never heard of until now.

Going back up to Hurt Locker. I said the rest of the bass in the movie is tame *relative* to the opening explosion. The .50 cal scene where the casing hits the ground in slow motion is good and the rest of the movie is a great bass flick. The opening explosion was low / loud enough that I could hear my 15" distorting at -10mv and I've been watching a lot of bass heavy movies lately. First world problems - as soon as I get another 15" or dual 18s I can back down the gain on that single V1500.

I'm not a JVC fan when it comes to 3d due to the flicker, but a film like Tron Legacy would look great since flicker doesn't pop up near as often in a darker film like this. I have a new JVC x790 coming Tues and I'll give TL a spin at some point on it.

Wonder Woman was amazing.....I give it an edge over T:TLK because the movie itself was overall better. TLK has more frequent bass, but WW dug deep with every scene. Typing this real quick on my phone as the movie just ended, but wow.
Replay value is huge, imo.

I know a movie digs deep when the chain on my ceiling fan slaps the glass light cover thing haha

Both movies are easily 5 star movies.

I felt the Track in my body during Blade Runner 2049 I'll wait for the Blu-Ray to make my final judgment but I loved the film. Give it It's own disc, a high bitrate video and ATMOS then top it off with a killer steelbook and we are good .

It needs to be played loud for full effect! Josh Ricci uses this scene in a lot of his subwoofer reviews for Audioholics...oh and your system will absolutely CRUSH this scene! Wish i could experience it on a set-up as good as yours!

That's awesome!
The first time I watched Jupiter Ascending I think I was drinking too and skipped a lot of scenes to try to find ultimate bass scenes lol
Give it a go without drinking. Still cheesy but amazing sound!
Prometheus is...well like you said...Prometheus!
I think you'll enjoy Oblivion. It's on my top 5 favorite movies both visually and sound.
The intro alone played at reference is amazing.
Look for when he lands in the stadium and when he tries to escape the library.
WWZ type bass.
Glad I could send some fun your way, I may have some more cool titles available as I add to my 4k collection.
Currently watching Wonder Woman again. It's late so only mv -30 and I'm still afraid my neighbors are gonna kill me

I'm not posting this for a religious, philosophic or atheistic discussion (so please, don't take it as such), but merely because of the nice LFE throughout The Bible mini-series for those who might be so inclined or interested. The soundtrack digs deep and has very nice couch/house shaking rumble throughout! I found myself doing things throughout my house while it was playing in the background and the bass always found me no matter where I was in my 5 bedroom home.

Oblivion is one of THE best if not THE best movie for overall audio and visuals. Are there movies with more bass? Yep, lots of them... but few can match how well done the bass is in Oblivion. Same can be said for the soundtrack, use of surround channels and the pristine quality of the visuals. Its a go to movie for a high quality movie experience.

Blade Runner 2049 is stunning and has some Sicario levels of bass as it builds tension (same director), but with more "slam" in the action scenes...

Worth seeking out a decent screen to watch it on...

I'm definitely going to watch it again... lovely movie and worthy sequel to the classic original

I agree completely. I saw it in Dolby Cinema and it looked and sounded great. I expect this will be reference quality when it is released on disk.
