Was it bad? We watched it a couple nights ago and thought it sounded great, but then again, it's the first and only movie I've watched on my new sub so I guess that bodes well for future movies. I wouldn't mind seeing a graph for this one.

There are a couple of hard hitting scenes in The Mummy, the whole section where they are on the plane was great

I wanted to wait for the BD release so bad, but with everyone talking about it I knew someone would spoil it for me.

Pirates of the Caribbean DMTNT 1080 bluray disc has a trailer for The Last Jedi,
I was like W-T-F is that doing on a BD when it's not even in theaters yet?
..... then realized because Disney

I've been buying mostly 4K's this year and they very rarely have trailers/previews.

The film look they gave Star Wars: The Last Jedi is pretty nice!
it reminds me of what how did to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story which looked amazing!!
Both are shot on the ALEXA 65 in 6.5K 65mm equiv with a 4K finish and a ATMOS track that most likely will be on the 4K releases

I just saw BR2049 recently, and I believe it is legendary: a true masterpiece: for me, it checks all the boxes in a way very few films do. It’s a day one buy for me, and I haven’t ruled out seeing it again (with Movie Pass, repeat viewings are free, in fact, you just pay $10/month and you can see a movie every day)

Baby Driver will definitely become a Cult Classic! I knew it 10 min into the film... and there were some sneaky, deep bass moments in there, too.

Highly recommended!

I rented Baby Driver on Bluray from Redbox last night and the DTS-HD audio rocked. Wasn't a huge fan of the movie (seemed like a ripoff of Drive), but for the purposes of this thread it's a winner.

I just put in Total Recall (2012) and seems like the bass could have been louder during the first 10 minutes? It's Dolby TrueHD and I selected the extended version over theatrical, but dunno if that should matter. Maybe I just need to watch the rest of the movie.

****Edit***** An hour into Total Recall and the audio is just dropping out altogether!!! A quick Google search shows this has been a known issue for years with Sony and there's an exchange program but not if you use a PO box. I live in the bum$&@/ middle of the Appalachians- my street is a one lane gravel trail with no name- a PO box is all I have! Really going to start doing some research before buying movies.

*****/edit******

Played War of the Worlds for the first time the other day on Bluray and the DTS track on that was amazing considering how bad the video quality is. Can't imagine a 4K remaster of that. The highlights were completely blown throughout the opening and everything was way over sharpened with contrast turned up to 11. Looks like it was shot through cheesecloth with a lens smeared in Vaseline then edited with instagram.

Yeah, it's definitely an issue on the Bluray I just bought. The audio keeps dropping out. If I rewind a few seconds and hit play, the audio starts working again but it's a pain and kinda ruins the experience.

My copy of Sunshine is also defective come to think about it. It's got this deal where it plays the picture-in picture director commentary whether you want it or not. It's usually during the climax of a scene. Just as the audio is getting good it mutes it and a window pops up talking about how the scene was shot with some anecdote. There's supposed to be an exchange program for Sunshine, too but I haven't gotten around to trying it yet.

The huge bass scene toward the end of the movie seemed to have some serious extension! My new sub digs as low as 7Hz and it definitely seemed to have some ULF content at least through the teens. Hopefully the graph confirms my experience. Edit: Or not
