You forgot Hurricane Heist ...one of the few 2018 titles that needed no BEQ at all
Flat Full Range Audio to -15dB is almost unheard of these days (well deserves a number 1 vote)

Here's few more that were close to passing the 20/20 test (dotted line, before BEQ)

I would also like to throw a HUGE shout out for Hans Zimmer Live in Prague (one of my most replayed discs of 2018)
...although technically it was a Nov. 2017 release, it wasn't included on last years Top 10 list and wasn't widely popular until after MrGrey posted it January 1st 2018

JW: FK was one that I found hard to keep off of the list, but after hearing it BEQ'd, the difference was so substantial (for me). That was pretty much the deciding factor.

I literally just finished watching The Meg (TrueHD mix) before logging back on. It sounded great, but for me, it didn't bring it like the others.

The Greatest Showman...I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I am not a movie musical fan. Therefore, I have no reference. I may have to suck it up and give a go at some point.

Lastly, you've brought up another one that I forgot about with The Commuter. It was pretty good from what I remmber, so I may have to revisit this one if I can remember next time I'm near a Red Box.

[EDIT] Didn't see all of the graphs for some reason.

With that said, I need to give Venom on BR a go. I've only seen the Amazon version. It looks like I'll have to BEQ that one as well. That graph looks great.

We watched most of the Hans Zimmer concert on Netflix, and it sounds amazing. My favorite so far is Cello Concerto. I'm definitely looking forward to picking up the disc.

I find the Commuter to be a very good replication of riding on a train. You can definitely feel it in your body.

My tops for 2018:

1. Hurricane Heist
2. A Quiet Place
3. The Predator
4. Ready Player One

Also, I noticed a pattern... Members here would find the bass more impressive if the peaks are near 20Hz and close to -10dB. This means, if a movie were mixed low (such as Mission Impossible: Fall Out and Black Panther) just turn it up 5 to 8dB and it would sound much more satisfying.

Speakers: L/C/R: JTR Neosis 212HT. Surrounds: Jamo C103, KEF Q100, Polk Audio RTiA3.
Subwoofer: JTR Captivator 4000ULF.
AVR: Denon AVR-X4400H. TV: Samsung UN75NU8000FXZA.

FS: Jamo C103, KEF Q100 and Polk RTiA3

Say what you want about Tom Cruise, but his action movies always seem to have outstanding deep bass. I'd love to see what his personal screening room looks and sounds like.

Is it worth getting The Nun and A Quiet Place in 4K? Is the picture quality that much better compares to the regular bluray?

yeah I know, but it didn't make me enjoy them any less. I primarily watch a movie for the movie itself, bass/audio is just icing on the cake for me. RP1 and AQP get the top 2 positions because (IMHO) they have it all

I hear you Brother!

AQP, Fury and Hans Zimmer had way more Demo/Replay value to me than the rest.

But I'm still waiting on my copy of:

MI:Fallout
The Nun
Equalizer 2
Venom
The Predator

(ordering limited edition steelbook UHD's typically takes longer in Canada )

So, Santa is bringing me a new Johnnysub for Xmas this year. I currently have two EPIK Legends with dual opposed 12" drivers and new 300 watt RMS BASH amps. They are nice subs for music but are mostly midbass heros when it comes to movies. Obviously, the goal is to use the new big boy as the main impact sub with the other two uses as balancing subs in my 3000 cubic foot room. With the Johnny Sub port tuned to around 19hz, I will have a steep high pass filter at 18 hz to protect the driver. Would BEQ with a mini dsp still be advantageous in this setup or would the filter make it moot?

Most of the BEQ improvements happen below 20Hz

If you can't DIY a couple 18" Flat-Packs, adding motion actuators like Crowson's (good down to ~3Hz)
Make the biggest difference in ULF tactile for the money in a space that large with BEQ.

Another one that I forgot about. Movie wise, it is completely forgettable though. Bass wise, it's definitely worthy of the #1 spot.

1. Hurricane Heist
2. The Nun
3. Fury
4. A Quiet Place
5. Equalizer 2
6. Ready Player One
7. Jumanji
8. The Matrix
9. Mission Impossible: Fallout
10. Rampage

I don't think we should include new 4k releases that were made prior to 2018.

But what if it's a new audio mix?

I agree...reminded me of a old Pro logic mix from decades ago. Had the potential to deliver but failed.

If the bass is much different I can see that.
