First Man BassEQ Demo Scene (Lossy source) -5dB

Note: The audio format is FLAC. Some players (Oppo I know of at least) have issues with 7.1 FLAC. The clips can be converted to PCM using ffmpeg and modifying the input and output filenames in this command:
Code:
ffmpeg -i input.mkv -map 0:v -vcodec copy -map 0:a -acodec pcm_s24le -max_muxing_queue_size 9999 output.mkv
Thanks will check out soon - demo disc in future?

I would be very curious to hear this. Might be the push I need to double up my buttkickers and amp (which I have to do first before adding BEQ) and then get into BEQ.
I need to.see if my Panny 820 UHD player can play FLAC files....I have no idea if it can or not.

Unfortunately, I have other upgrades in mind before trying a miniDSP. [IMG class=inlineimg]/forum/images/smilies/frown.gif[/IMG]

I'm doing it without a MiniDSP. Although, I'm sure there are several advantages to having one. I haven't really focused on that aspect of it yet, as I don't have a need for one just yet with my current setup.
How are you doing it without MiniDSP?
Since I am a newbie, MiniDSP thing is extremely confusing for me 🙂

Applying filters on remux, like I did in order to create the demo clips. That method comes with a set of compromises, including losing object data (Atmos/DTS:X) and having to reduce in level to prevent clipping. This is off-topic for this thread, so you should ask your questions in the BassEQ thread (click the "Take the Red Pill" link in my sig).

Alright, here are the demo clips in PCM, which should play on pretty much anything that can play an MKV...

Ready Player One BassEQ Demo Clip (UHD, PCM 7.1)
Unbroken BassEQ Demo Scene (PCM 7.1)
Finding Nemo BassEQ Demo Scene (PCM 7.1)
First Man BassEQ Demo Scene (Lossy source)

I reduced them in level to prevent clipping. The filename shows how much, you will have to increase your MV by that amount in order for them to be back to normal level.

Hi Aron,

Love your work!

I've got a question. Isn't there a way to preserve the metadata?

Keep up the good work!

You have to decode a track to modify it, and once you've decoded it, you need to have the ability to encode it back into Atmos.

Aquaman (2018)

Guys, here's your top bass movie for 2019. I know it's a long way to go, but it will very hard for ANY movie in the this year to top this one. Essentially, this movie is a nonstop bass fest from beginning to end. It reminded me a lot of the bass in Wonder Woman, except there's much more of it.

Aquaman was everything I hoped Infinity War would be, but wasn't. Loads of fun and EPIC, with loads of bass hitting your chair and body. I watched it with my mom and gf, and both of them mentioned how impressive the audio was. People on this thread are gonna love it.

I can't wait to rewatch it at home when it's released on disc; not only it has the looks of a new demo disc, but the movie is fun to watch. As much as I liked Wonder Woman, Aquaman is in my top three DC movies (and arguably superhero movies in general), right behind MoS and BvS. And it has a beautiful Amber Heard in it!

You can't go wrong with this one.

Note: I haven't watched Bumblebee, but with Bay gone, I'm not sure how great the audio will be. I expect it to be very good, but not top tier. We'll see.

Completely agree. Aquaman sounded amazing in IMAX. As a movie, I enjoyed it a lot more than Black Panther and Infinity War and it excelled these MCU films in both VFX and Audio.

Bumblebee - Not even a patch on Aquaman but not bad either. Suits the 80s retro ambience.

That's the right call to make. This movie could potentially also set a new standard for HDR. 4K is the way to go with this one.

Aquaman is a dream come true for Warner and the DCU. It has the elements that make Marvel movies so attractive to the general audiences, but also has the visual grandiosity and epic themes that Snyder envisioned and established with his first two DC movies. The film is funny without being slapstick comedy (see Thor: Ragnarok) and feels big in scale without the grittiness of the Snyder films that many people felt off-putting.

That's an approach they had already successfully tried with Wonder Woman, but I believe it's better done here. James Wan was the right choice for this project, and the movie is a home run. I was a little afraid by the reports that this film was "Marvelized", and while in a way that's true, they took the best elements and incorporated them into the DCU film style.

The result is a movie that is as good as anything on the MCU, and superior to most of their installments.

How long until on disc?

I reduced them in level to prevent clipping. The filename shows how much, you will have to increase your MV by that amount in order for them to be back to normal level.
Can you upload them to somewhere else? after downloading 750 mb, I was asked for membership. I think there is a limit for free downloads. If you have a cloud account like dropbox, box etc, you can also share a link.

Sorry for pushing you, but you guys are telling such good things about bEQ and I am very curiuos about it

We'll see.

100% agreed. Watched it in a Dolby hall at my country. I've watched many, many movies in this hall and never has a movie like Aquaman pounded bass quite like this. Some air vents were vibrating till the point that I saw people started to move away to another seat. Insane stuff.

Can't wait to hear it at home.

That's weird. I've downloaded a few gigs now, and I haven't been prompted to join.

Hey, guys... I just watched Jinn with Faran Tahir and Ray Park (you know... Darth Maul) and the bass was pretty great in many parts of the film. Now it is a cheesy B-film, but if you like movies about the supernatural, some martial arts, jump scares and some house shaking bass, this is your Huckleberry! Very difficult to obtain since it was only released in Australia and Germany, but I'm sure you resourceful fellas will be able to make due!
