I see Sony doesn't even bother with 24bit tracks for their BDs, and most of them are "only" 5.1. It's no coincidence that I rarely buy Disney or Sony discs.

Does anyone else find several Atmos tracks to be recorded very low? I'm watching Thor Ragnarok 4k right now at reference and it's lower than I normally listen. Many DTS or DTS-X tracks are loud at -10ish. I had to watch Ralph Wrecks the Internet at -3. I'm just surprised some are this quiet. I've never ever felt I needed to turn up the volume above 0! I wonder if I could have a setting off??

It's Disney, they do that to all their new releases or remasters of old released tracks now. Roll back bass, dynamic, extension and volume for a safe mix. check out the review of any recent Disney movie or cartoon and you will see the same problem. https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/movie...leasetimestamp

Ragnorok is just another example of a compressed Disney release. Unfortunately, you have to raise the MV quite a bit.

Ive given up on Disney movies so it's totally pointless for anyone who cares about bass and a good mix to buy these crippled discs.

hard with some rather awesome sounds effects to spice things up a bit.

Something seems to be off with the graph for Olympus Has Fallen in the first page.

Data-bass:

I assume the data-bass one looks about right. Something worth checking out/fixing when you have the time.

Saw Captain Marvel in Imax. Don't expect much boom with this one. The low end is fairly tame. There's a bit more tactile bass towards the end of the movie but nothing about the bass was impressive.

Movie itself was pretty entertaining.

Thanks for the graph, Richard. The 20hz content there is crazy, although probably that's mostly from the famous Monument scene.

One of the few "classics" I haven't watched. It's a shame I won't be getting the meaty parts, but looks like a very solid track all around.

Battle for Sevastopol (2015), Russian, subtitles
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4084744/

For your consideration:
I saw this on Amazon Prime. It's a very good drama, great reviews, awards, and by the second act every other scene or so is a short battle or sniper sequence. The bass is exceptionally clear, and I'm saying that from dual Klipsch 15"s so I imagine for many on this thread it would be even better. Not quantity, but quality, and a gripping, thought provoking tale.

Hardest part is sourcing the correct (new 20A) breakers for your model of breaker box. The breakers themselves are cheap. To REALLY do it correctly you should also then upgrade the wire from your breaker box to the room.....but *cough* I haven't done that yet. If you're REALLY drawing power to capacity, you might be risking a fire hazard by not also upgrading the wire itself; but in my case, I shouldn't be anywhere close.

Did you replace the wire also?

The Crown (Netflix), Season 2 Episode 6, very beginning opening scene.

As the cars approach there is a nice rumbling bass effect, then a couple seconds later absolutely apocalyptic bass.

Honestly never heard anything like it in anything I have watched (never see EoT opening though).

Be ready with the remotes of you try it out

Edit: apologies, just realised the thread is movie-only.

Hi, I kind of disagree, I saw it yesterday at amc dolby atmos cinema and the bass was really impressive to me. Now maybe because the movie was loud at this theater and their use of recliner seats for bass(that also vibrate/shake) was fun.

I also enjoy the movie itself.

All the talk about TCP got me curious to check out the first one , Cloverfield. Just saw it again a few days ago and WOW! That movie is a bass monster! I didn't have this set up in 2008 when it came out so I missed out on a lot apparently.

Only thing is it was so loud/the bass was so much I had to lower the mv by about 3db. The only other movie that I'm forced to do that with is The Incredible Hulk (not so much for the bass but the audio itself. But for Cloverfield it was the bass).

So my question is does this movie clip or was it just recorded very loud?
