The bass is very very loud and constant. It is a little over the top sometimes, but it is there in spades nonetheless. You have to be in the mood as it can be a constant barrage. For example, in one scene that made me lol, the camera dives from above ground into the water, and there is a huge bass slam. It was like...already then

Hmm I already bought the 4k disc maybe I should go find the 3d Blu Ray as well. My plasma can do it but I didn't have a 3d capable player until last year so I never really actively sought them out. I bought the plasma for the plasma part way more than the 3d part

Actually your enthusiasm in the early days of 3D is what got me into it. I remember getting an Acer 5360 DLP and Nvidia glasses and being in movie and gaming 3D heaven!

I’m saving Spider-Verse 3D for next weekend. Been waiting to watch it! My sub was getting an RMA exchange so had to wait on these two 3D movies that also have very nice bass rich soundtracks

You’ll definitely enjoy the world of Atlantis. Reminded me of the feeling I got watching Avatar

I don’t want to spend your money, but both Aquaman and Spider-Verse are very well done in 3D (only have personal experience with Aquaman, haven’t watched Verse but going off of another review). Or maybe wait for a sale and do a re-watch in a few months time.

Actually my bad! I have the regular version, not 3D. Got confused as I thought it was 3D.

Apparently there are region unlocked 3D Blu-ray versions from Hong Kong, etc. Will have to try to get from there or UK amazon. 3D and awesome bass are a perfect combo to me.

And sorry, I’ll stop hijacking this tread. Back to the bass!

Interesting as I don’t think Spider-Verse got a cinematic 3D release so it must be a home-release only conversion

That's awesome!! I had a good friend that had the 5360 which inspired me to add a second projector, single chip DLP for ghost and flicker free 3d.

Cant wait to check out Aquaman 3d! Sounds awesome.

spiderverse was a flop imho.
started fast forwarding about 20 min in, and it just never took off.
what was the plot anyways.?
kid and parker basically playing around the whole movie, trying to crack jokes and be witty ?
might of been watchable back when i was 10 years old or so, but not now.

would take any of the originals from the 70s any day over that nonsense.
the kid and parker were both boring drags if you ask me.
it just wasnt a good movie, at all.....
soundtrack was just ok.

I watched it in 3d. To me, animated movies look far better in 3d than in 4k. I loved the 3d of this flick. So annoyed that I can't buy it in Canada/USA.

Honestly it's just another Transformer Bass again. IMO it's not even close to Age of Extinction neither Dark of the moon which have REMARKABLE BASS scene but the first 10 min is completely wiped my mind, they could just make a Cybertron movie or remake the old Transformer anime movie but they didn't which is sad to me.

Not Bori but it does not have as much bass as Aquaman nor Spider Verse. You can easily see how much bass there is and the exact time stamps where the bass hits with the spectro graphs in the other thread.

I was running some of the bass drop tests in YouTube. Not sure how reliable they are but my SVS was kicking up quite loudly until 8 Hz wherein I could feel the doors vibrating and sub pushing air.

On another bass test which goes upwards from 1 Hz, I could hear the woofer vibrating from 1 to 7 Hz but without any impact which became quite seismic from 8Hz.

On paper, my SVS can do only until 16 or 17 Hz but wondering why it was able to push until 8 Hz

The Cloverfield Paradox (Netflix) - Another stunner from Paramount. Pretty good quality for streaming but still sounded compressed and hollow. Heard the Atmos on the BD is a beast. Such a shame they didn't do a UHD release as the Netflix picture was gorgeous in Dolby Vision.

Your SVS stats are likely measured in free air, so your room will help give you some gain in the lower frequencies

Also just because it's below the measured line, doesn't mean you can't hear/feel it at lower volumes, it just won't be as loud as the other frequencies

You can't hear 1-7hz. Maybe you could hear some distortion coming from the driver that was within the range of human hearing.

If you can hear anything from the sub below 15hz or so then it's likely distortion. Frequencies below that threshold should be a silent wave of pressure.

Solid core doors really help with that. Who was it that thought that hollow core doors were a good idea?

Gave Aquaman a rent on Vudu. Nicely done with great visuals. Really like the bass in this movie as my Earthquake shakers got a workout. 3d would have been great with this movie.
