How the bass for the latest How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World 4K?

Also, are the first 2 movies any good bass in 4K?

I find it kind of ironic that the Best Bass Movie of all time shares the same name as the Worst of all time.

The streaming bass was pretty solid, just got the disc in the mail today, so I’m assuming it’s much improved. HTTYD 3 has some excellent 14-30Hz scenes, but overall the bass levels on average seemed fairly tame to me, which I actually enjoyed watching at a lower volume with the family. Aquaman style bass would have been out of place in a movie like this.

There were about 4 times that I remember the room shaking. I would have like a little more overall, but I'm probably just being greedy.

Frequencies below your crossover point for all speakers set to small
get summed with the LFE channel in your AVR's Bass Management and routed to your Sub(s)

BassEQ is for Subs only, 1 miniDSP 2x4HD is all you need for up to 4 Sub output channels.

Yes the miniDSP sits between your AVR and Subs

The BEQ thread is here: https://www.avsforum.com/forum/113-s...l#post56610134
and the Install/Setup Guide will walk you through each step, if you get stuck just ask for help in the BEQ thread.

Another generic terminator movie. This franchinese needs serious rebooting. How much longer can they milk the old cast and story to get ticket sales?. It's an absolute shame that the actor playing the terminator got stuck into a film that most likely will end his role in any future terminator movie. The only cooling look thing is the black mental terminator, that looks sick but only good enough that I'll just wait until this hits digital release. The female robot says she's human but does that mean she's a human robot hybrid from the future or just another robot that doesn't know it's a robot like in salvation?. I'd be surprised if this turns out to be a good movie.

I know you used the word completely but you could argue Terminator: Genesys was a reboot and even Salvation was a new spin on this franchise. Something about this trailer that gives it a Alita - Battle Angel feel to it. I have yet to see Alita so i cannot comment but i am not paying to see Dark Fate in theaters.

I love the glass half full approach. Makes for happy days Haha.

Got a few free nights this weekend to partake in a few cinematic adventures. I know First Man is an embarrassment from a bass standpoint but is the movie actually decent? How are the visuals.

Im also thinking about BumbleBee and The Nun which I already know is a super good one. Dunno if I may just dust another oldie off and hit it up, just not sure if I'll have enough time Haven't watched Battle-LA in at least 5 years so might hit that one up...

I thought First Man was very well done (other than having to fix the neutered bass with BEQ), and about the closest I’ll ever get to experience what it’s like landing on the moon. Bumblebee was surprisingly solid I thought bass and movie wise, but the nun nearly put us to sleep even with all that bass. I need to rewatch Battle-LA as well, been a minute; still in my top 5 for all out non stop bass assault.

Word. Sounds like I've picked at least a few winners. Yea B:LA hasn't been discussed here in quite some time and sort of lurks in the shadows of its piers IMO. There are sooo many types of bass effects that are just downright rad in that movie though. One of my favorites still is the flying scout ships when their engines seemingly backfire a lot. The bass effect isn't super low, but the feeling is concussive. It's just so cool.

True, I actually enjoyed both those terminators as well in their own right.

Alita comes out on disc July 23. June 11 is Captain Marvel’s disc release which is the only one in the marvel universe I haven’t seen, so hopefully it has a decent not horrible squashed dynamic track. I looked through all the summer Blu-ray’s dropping up to September and seems like slim pickings for bass movies, hopefully a few sleepers in there.

First Man is a phenomenal movie and the UHD is a MUST OWN!.
BumBlebee UHD and movie was awesome. The NUN is trash but the bass is good up to the point that i could still watch.

I think I saw somewhere that Dark Fate will also follow a completely different timeline from any of the other movies in the franchise but Im not certain on that...

James Cameron was saying this one is in the same universe as T1 and T2, but no other Terminator movies.

This makes more sense considering the cast. Thanks!

What are the stats on that hulk scene? (How low, duration, time stamp)

Ant-Man And The Wasp (2018)

This movie was a disappointment at theaters sound-wise, but I was pleasantly surprised to find the home mix to be pretty great. As usual with Disney mixes, the levels are a bit low, but a 5db MV bump helped to give the mix the punch it needed. The film isn't bass heavy, but when required the bass is very well done and used to great effect, while having enough weight to make its presence felt.

The mix is very dynamic and balanced, with an interesting sound design. And, for a change, it features a score that actually makes you care for it, and was very enjoyable. I listened to the BD 7.1 DTS-MA track, and I liked it a lot.

Pan (2015)

This audio mix is a delight. Much like Ant-Man 2, it isn't bass heavy, but the bass scenes were great and very well done. The movie had more action than expected, and the audio complements it very nicely. But the overall ATMOS track (core 7.1 Dolby TrueHD for me) is a show stealer. Very clear, detailed and precise, with an excellent sound design and a terrific score. The mix is very subtle when it needs to, and many have these small details going on, creating a very great atmosphere that demands your attention and helps you to be immersed in its fantasy world. I can only assume this track in its full ATMOS configuration should be a reference track.

This movie was slammed by the critics, but in all honestly I didn't find anything wrong with it. It's the second time I've watched it in the past three days, and I can see myself watching it several more times. It has gorgeous visuals and a beautiful, entertaining story. If you can find it for a very good price, give it a chance. The movie is for kids, but it has a lot to offer to adults, starting with the wonderful sound mix.
