I can't emphasize how much this Tarzan (2013) CGI animated film caught me off guard. First of all, I never even heard of it, and second of all... I never realized another studio outside of Disney even attempted one. And just to temper everyone's expectations, it's a RE-IMAGINING of the story, so don't expect it to follow any type of literature.

The bass was very nice and impactful when called on and I was thoroughly drawn into the scenery, the landscape and the action on screen. I would highly recommend this movie for anyone who has kids (but then that wouldn't explain how I love it so much as I don't have kids). But I just thought I'd post this to get someone else to see this who'd otherwise not watch it due to low reviews that I don't understand at all. The movements are lifelike, the animation is along the lines of Toy Story and The Incredibles, but it brings a realism that the former films don't really capture; it's hard to put into words until you watch it.

Very enjoyable and highly recommended! I purchased mine on Amazon a couple of days ago for $7.60 shipped.

Thanks for the rec, SuperFist. I actually seen that movie several times at the store for cheap, but had no reason to check it out. I'll keep an eye for it.

Stranger Things sounded fantastic! There was some loud fun bass but I expect it to be filtered around 25-30 hz.

Yeah when I saw that in the cinema I knew it'd be good bass wise. Especially near the beginning when a big thing walks over/above her. Can't wait to hear that in Atmos

I'm sitting here trying to think through all the great bass movies over the last five years or so and was curious what you guys would rate as a few of your favorite movies for the best bass (no BEQ enabled). I know I could look through the long list at the start of the thread but I'm also interested in individual opinions and the list doesn't provide that. My hope is discovering some movies I've overlooked and missed through the years. Feel free to comment on the movie as well.

Great lists guys. And there are a few in those lists that I've still not seen... like Sully.

I'll add a couple more:
Bumble Bee (Movie was better than I expected and good bass)
Batman Vs. Superman
Total Recall
Oblivion and WWZ (Short intense deep bass scenes)

But the movies I like for almost non-stop bass from start to finish are:
The Incredible Hulk
Jupiter Ascending
Tron
Spiderman into the Spider-Verse

Flight of the Phoenix has some nice bass. The triple feature of Hot Fuzz, The Worlds End and Shaun of the Dead has good bass, especially Hot Fuzz. Hopefully the 4k version coming out soon keeps it solid.

The movie was ABSOLUTELY GARBAGE!!!!!!
As soon as you think it's gonna get good and get crazy the movie LITERALLY ends
shameful reboot of a already great franchise. thank god i got a free ticket to watch
it because otherwise I'd be pissed. I agree with the audience score 100% because i saw it.

I know I could look through the long list at the start of the thread but I'm also interested in individual opinions and the list doesn't provide that. My hope is discovering some movies I've overlooked and missed through the years. Feel free to comment on the movie as well.
There's been a few real killers - even in just the last couple of years
Aquaman
Ready: Player One
Wonder Woman
Spider-man Into The Spider-verse
Blade Runner 2049
Hans Zimmer: Live in Prague

Although not a constant bass barrage throughout, IMHO, A Quiet Place has some of the best use of bass (and surrounds) to create atmosphere and tension of any movie I can think of in a very long while
