Yes! I've been telling my coworkers and friends about the Total Recall remake for years, but they don't seem to believe me. At the end of the day, I tell them if all else fails, you have Jessica Biel and Kate Beckinsale in the same movie!

Agreed! It's my pick as well for 2019. I commented when this first came out on disc that it was the first bass experience since Fury Road to bring a similar overall experience and WOW factor.

^^^ Well if it helps IT 2 like it did the first IT, the bass is going to be wicked good!!! Its great already from about 20hz up, but under just lifts up so well for ULF down fully into the singles. IMO its just so awesome the way it’s used and gives a ton a tension and power with the wobbling and pressure. In this movie especially, it’s just not the same without it. Lots of awesome single digits from subtle to full on. Lots in between 10-20hz as well. But there is one section in particular that the 12hz frequencies (mixed with some 24hz) is the best and coolest I’ve ever experienced.

I’ve got high hopes for IT 2 because of it, but it’s got a tall order to fill to compare!!

EDIT: oh yeah IT has one heck of an Atmos track as well!!

Agree...20hz filter is much better then 30hz. It at least gives us a taste of ULF. While it may leave us thirsty for more, at least no dry mouth by the end of the flick. lol

It's definitely one of my favorites as well. I popped it in on Sunday night and had a blast watching it again. Funnily enough, I still haven't watched the Extended Cut. I believe I may pop it in for a second watch later this week and select the Extended cut. The only bad thing is, I own the "Mastered in 4k edition" which as the 24 bit track, but no Extended Cut, and the original release that included both versions, but it only contains a 16 bit track. Yeah, I like it enough to own two copies, lol.

Not sure the problem but I can say for certain:
1. I never use Dynamic Vol or compression and checked last night...
2. A couple other bass movies (Scenes from Battle for LA and Kong, Skull island, etc) and those movies have incredible bass in my system.

With GodzillaKOTH, I get a low distortion rumble, but not a ton of bass. I will keep playing around with a few things.

As others have said, which is why I assume that there is something wrong with my set up that really shows itself on this movie. I did try to boost the bass...but just seem to increase the low level (bass pun intended) vibration/distortion. That has to be the issue.
it would be an obvious set up/setting issue, except other movies sound very good!

Anyway, it might be time to become a big boy and calibrate my subs...

@Elihawk. gotta be something in your receiver. You indicated that you get "Scenes from Battle for LA and Kong, Skull island, etc) and those movies have incredible bass in my system". When playing Godzilla, did you possibly try to run thru a few different sound modes in your Marantz(assuming that is the receiver you are using)? That is one step in trouble shooting that you could try on the fly.

Same! I’m almost at 900 total (mix of Blu-rays and UHD’s). I would say about 70, maybe even 100, are double dips (I have about 5 copies of Terminator 2, lol). I think about getting rid of them, but it would make me sad at how little I could get for them.

What is your sub setup? I listened to this again today right after a couple known bass flicks, (Mad Max, A Quiet Place, Hacksaw Ridge) and they all shook my whole house. Put in Godzilla and meh. I checked for dynamic compression, etc and everything was good. Idk, I thought the movie pretty much sucked so I'm not too worried about it.

Exactly @Tom Riddle. Some of these Blu Rays would sell for $. With Walmart and Best Buy with $3 bly ray bins...
Plus I like to pull out some of the older flicks for demo's, like Flight of the Phoenix. I would not buy it in 4K, but DANG that barrel roll gets me every time!

Okay, update on my "why is the new Godzilla movie not killing it" bass wise....well, watch again and tried changing every setting, reran audessey (don't have bass EQ), etc. Interestingly, then I threw in the DVD version (I bought the DVD/BR combo) and it had bass coming out of the walls! I suspect my BR disc is defective, because I put in my Hacksaw ridge BR and the battle scene nearly took my room off!
Problem solved....

I've only just found this list after searching for years for something like this (I must not be able to use Google as it's been going for 8 years?!?)

Anyway thanks and amazing work people!

also glad to see "Flight of the Phoenix" which blew my sub twice on the old list!

I still find this interesting as there have certainly been enough folks who just thought KOTM was neutered that perhaps there in fact was a bad batch of Blu rays. These are systems I KNOW are capable of reproducing KOTM, but just seem to fall short for some reason. I'd hate to have had all of us arguing when in fact it was a bad batch of discs. I mean, stranger things have happened around here...

yes, somehow I doubt my BR disc is the only one that has some sort of muffled/distorted bass sound and dialogue isn't very clear either. Don't have the receipt to return if, but if anyone hears of this issue, I might have a "in" to get this replaced!
