Can you put in the 4K version and choose the DTS-HD MA 7.1 track, or do you have to play the Blu Ray to get the better bass track?

Does anyone know if there is any significant difference in the bass between the theatrical and extended cut for Terminator Salvation on blu ray? Just saw this blu is 10 years old this month! Doesn't seem that long ago.

It's not included on the 4K disc, no. But you can rip both copies and remux them together to get the best of both worlds

I love the mix on that movie but every time I watch it on BD im reminded that my copy has a few audio dropouts in it. I think there was an exchange program I had heard about a few years later.

Nope. No one here seems to have the DVD copy that they can demux and upload the LFE track.

Unfortunately, after getting the Blu-ray copy long ago, I sold my DVD of U-571 before the advent of this thread and my involvment in it.

Yes. However, the good thing is when you create a MKV of Total Recall (2012), the audio no longer drops out. At least in the application I use to play it back on my HTPC.

For anyone wondering what we're talking about, it's around the 01:00:00 to 01:05:00 mark where he is sitting down at the piano that the audio sync issues first occur.

Damn I don't blame you. Mine has I think 3-4 different glitch points starting at about the halfway point.

That movie I recall (oh what) I had to send PCM to the receiver, not bitstream. That's the only movie ever to need that.

Unfortunately i'm still running 1080 on my twelve year lol plasma lol. That should be changing soon. As mentioned above changing the player to PCM from bitstream fixed a lot of glitches i had in some movies but didn't know that at the time i returned Total Recall 2012,,,, plus to me when using PCM,,, it didn't sound as good as using bitstream (dont know why). Also after getting the new AVR,,,,it seemed to have removed most of the audio glitches (guess my Integra) couldn't process some of the newer formats very well as there were some weird stuff going on.

I have only watched the 4K Atmos version of Oblivion since I bought it. After reading the comments here (and the BEQ thread) I finally watched the Blu Ray with DTS-MA 7.1 and it is far superior. Even if both are BEQ'd the Blu Ray is more dynamic and the bass is much more powerful. I've always BEQ's the Atmos track, so it's probably even worse as is. I don't remux, but in the future, I'll probably always watch the Blu Ray. Especially since my AVR does a good job at upmixing, so I'm probably not missing out much. I have no idea why the Atmos track is rolled off so much compared the the DTS MA track.

All of them unfortunately. The Blu-ray is one of the best of all time. The 4K is worse on every point.

Watched Godzilla King of the Monsters and wow, just wow!!! I've never heard and felt that much bass in a track before. Not only was the bass excellent, but the entire sound-field was life like with some of the best object placement out there. Even with all the monsters battling you could pick out the most minute details. This track deserves and Oscar!

Well... if you're not familiar with ripping, demuxing, remuxing movies on your computer, I may have to wait until there's someone who is, because there really is no clear cut way of doing this without a working knowledge of it. I'm not confident I could walk you through it from point A to Z.

And I'm pretty sure we'd have to take this convo to private messaging.

Spoiler!
