Aron, posted one in the BEQ thread if you can't wait for it. In the bass graph from 18hz down, follow the dashed green line.

Here's what I wrote about it...

Wow, we had 2 completely different experiences! The bass was GREAT in this movie, although i did watch it with BEQ so idk how it is without it. As for the movie, it was phenomenal, powerful, innovative, and deep! Not to mention the PQ is BEAUTIFUL. It's unfortunate you didn't enjoy it, but i understand its not for everyone.

A good friend of mine just put in a dedicated HT (he came to my house and then couldn’t resist) and mentioned he saw Hunger Games on tv and was going to order the UHD’s. That got me in the mood to watch them again, and luckily, I already owned all the UHD’s. We had previously watched the original Hunger Games last year, so we popped in Catching Fire last night. Man, there are some good bass scenes in this flick! Sadly, there are some lost opportunities too, with some scenes not delivering the overall impact the screen would have you believe. Either way, it was an amazing listen, as well as great movie!

On another note, I’ve been stalking Amazon to purchase Underwater, and it still isn’t available for preorder. So, I did something I never do, I ordered it from Best Buy and paid $3.99 for shipping ! Oh well, when there is a movie released and you have to have it, you got to do what you got to do!

Happy Easter, everyone! Be safe out there, and remember what Samuel L. Jackson said!

So I am still questioning streaming...Last night I watched Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn on Vudu. Even though I was watching the UHD Atmos/Dolby+ version I still think the audio is anemic. The picture was great but the audio takes a big hit. It also seems like it follows a different loudness curve than discs. I had this movie +3 MV and +3 for bass and I could have punched it a bit more but thought of that what if scenario when streaming.

I had the similar results when watching The Rise of Skywalker which I saw in the Dolby Theater and was just blown away. Sure Dolby Theater could use a bit more bass but the surrounds in that theater were awesome! Streaming...not the same experience.

I just disabled Audyssey last night and it's unbelivable how it makes the bass much more thunderous and impactful. It really gets you in the gut while with Audyssey it seems unatural and boosted as some frequencies and cut at other frequencies.

Did you guys have comparable experience?

Once this mess of a crisis is over I will be looking to upgrade to a processor with Dirac and with the possibility to use the Loudness compensation without EQ.

Spoiler!

I enjoyed it, but if you can't suspend your disbelief and intellectual analysis, and just be in the moment to enjoy a film, it won't be considered "good" to you.

I always say, "To each his own" and emphasize immersion. I enjoy entertainment to escape from reality not to be reminded of it constantly in my free time.

But again... to each his own!
I'm a few days behind on this but just watched the movie. The story is whatever, but one of the LOL moments for my wife and I - everyone is wearing these underwater suits, and at one point there is a tight opening to squeeze through, but who knows whats on the other side? Kristen Stewart says "I'm the smallest, I'll go first." Um, they're all wearing the same sized suits...Anyway, the bass sounds great with BEQ.

Yes and this is likely because you are hearing peaks in the response where Audy is cutting them. Flat doesn't normally sound good to most ears. I preferred a big 32hz peak in my response for years due to the same thing. Once I figured out how to get a nice flat rising response from 80 to 12hz, I much preferred it over the peaked or flat response. So I don't think it's really a issue with Audyssey. Move the subs till you get the smoothest response with no EQ, run room correction, then either use the Room control or LF knob on your subs to created a rising curve or if your subs don't have that feature then use a EQ device or maybe even the Audy editor app to employ a low shelf filter. Either way I think you would like the results. It would be nice if Audy would incorporate this as a feature in it's settings of Flat, Reference, R/L bypass, House curve...etc

I can’t get the RTA on REW to work. It shows the the UMIK but when I try to use it I get nothing and it says no signal from the sound card. I’m using a MacBook Pro. It worked fine using the sweeps for checking my room response but I wanted to measure bass from movie scenes.

Last night I watched what I think is the best bass+surround movie that I have seen thus far in my (compared to ya'll) movie watching experience. I know a good movie workout for my system is when there is a bit of heat coming off the equipment rack after watching!
