I'm reposting the graph for The Nun (the-nun) because some search engines have trouble finding for very short words.

^^ Been a while since i saw that graph and remembered it was good, but jeez -10 at about 18Hz sure explains a lot. I was only at -15MV with plenty left. Thanks for re-posting that graph.

Lastly, this is my daughters thing. We are watching a “family” movie, horror is all she will watch with us. For me, I’m not into super graphic horror. I can handle the original Halloween’s, nightmare on elm street, stuff like that. For more recent examples, the conjuring was good. It’s the super violent and graphic ones that aren’t appealing.

So with all that said, what fits? I appreciate the help.
I didn’t see Scream listed - one of my all time, favorites! The new Halloween is pretty amazing and on the plus side, you would need to rewatch the original.

Day of the Dead (both the 1978 and 2004 remake) is a great film.

If you like creature features, there is Lake Placid, Jaws, Deep Blue Sea, Crawl, 47 Meters, 47 Meters Uncaged, The Shallows, and The Descent (scariest one on the list).

Rewatched Atomic Blonde tonight. The first time we watched it, my HT room hadn’t been completed and I was still rocking my 7.1 system in my living room, so I couldn’t take advantage of the object based DTS:X. Wow! This is a demo worthy track beginning to end. The pulse pounding bass from the 80’s electronica score and songs was amazing, with Blue Monday really setting the tone from the start. The action scenes really took advantage of all the speakers and the bass was killer anytime a gun was fired or hit landed. There are too many surround scenes to list that took place of object based surrounds, but the one that blew me away was when Charlize blew smoke from her cigarette during her interview and it literally went through all the speakers perfectly. I seriously felt like she just blew smoke in my face. Truly amazing and what a great film!

The 90s Liam Neeson movie? If so, a graph was posted of the BD audio, and I don't remember seeing any ULF. Maybe it was neutered. Let me confirm.

Without using the Bass EQ trick for movies, how many movies actually have significant content below 16-18Hz?

More specifically for me, how many blockbuster type movies like Transformers, Star Wars, etc?

My current sub goes flat until 16Hz then starts to roll off naturally. Wondering if I should explore adding boost with Dirac but the amount of power this would require might put the sub amp over the top. Debating if it's worth the hassle to explore and test or not.

In relation to the number of movies released, not many. But over the years, it's been found a good amount of movies with such content, many of which are listed in the data-bass thread, the BEQ thread and here.

Even less. Ironically the films with more infrasonic content are, usually, not the big blockbusters. I believe the latest one with good very low bass was Aquaman, from last year. There may be some others, but can't remember right now.

Your best option would be BEQ. I'd suggest to stop by the BEQ thread right know, where there's some talk about the benefits of it, even for not super capable subs.

Finally gonna start the 4K 5 movie collection of Transformers in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. Hopefully they bring out the goods in the bass department. I’m sure Atmos and picture will be great.

My copy of Hardcore Henry (2015) arrived today, and it comes with an UV/iTunes copy that could still work. If someone is interested, say so or PM me and I'll gladly give you the code.

If you already have a remuxed file, just toss it in MKVToolNix, uncheck the current audio on your preexisting remux, check the audio from the downloaded file and also make sure you apply any Delay that was needed from the previous remux and voila!

Hey Super, sorry if I missed this somewhere, but is there a graph that shows the FR difference between the DVD version of WotW and the Blu-ray DTS-HD verison?

If I remuxed my Bluray copy with your provided file, would I still want to apply BEQ settings from the BEQ thread or no?

Thanks!

The fifth film is crazy for the bass. My wife hollared at me to turn it down so you will enjoy it. Plus it is such a gonzo movie that i enjoy. It disregards the first films, it ignores the dynobots for the climax, Optimus only transforms after the climax...i could go on and on.
