In lieu of the Dolby Atmos Demo Disc I downloaded and LOVED... I was thinking... wouldn't it be awesome if we had an Ultimate Bass Movie Demo Disc!?

I actually did a test run just this morning with The Incredible Hulk with the scene where those jeeps were bombarding him with sound as well as the beginning of the Abomination fight. The next one was Tron Legacy where the son just enters the world and is then whisped off to fight in the games. The last I added was a Hacksaw Ridge battle scene. It even had menus to get you right to the part you want to view. I think it looks kinda awesome!

Isn't this much more convenient as a demo and reference bass disc than digging and searching out each movie and scene? I could include what we all mostly agree are the best, deepest bass scenes in certain films! But the big cavet is... can we REALLY do this? Will we be able to really get away with this and get it in the hands of members here? What file server or hosting service would we need? So many variables of possible issues and whatnot like getting flagged and warned or worse by the MPAA. And I was thinking with movies that have Cinavia protection (mutes audio after 20 min), how would that work if there are little snippets of films with this protection (not to mention that it's technically illegal to bypass it)?

What do you all think?
We already have bass demo discs. Someone here can link them I'm sure (I don't know how to link from my phone).

Yeah guys don't get me wrong, as Audiofan pointed out GotG2 has bass, and it did shake my couch at times but I was hoping for a bit more. I think I'm just in the mood to have a strong bass movie. As Mr Grey pointed out there have been a few but we need more. Maybe Wonder Woman will be something that will shock and awe us.

There’s definitely potential in Wonder Woman for it. We just have to see if they go for it in production.

So much yet to learn young grasshopper. Do an avs google search for demo discs and you will find a ton. My personal fave is the scuba steve v2.0 but the ultimate and superLEO discs are solid too.

Forgot who it was that asked about Guardians of the Galaxy 2 but the wife and I watched it last night and absolutely loved it. If you are into the MCU, and liked the first one, you will love this one for sure. Great mixtape tracks, I Lol'd multiple times as did the wife and Drax really stepped it up in this one.

The visuals in UHD were stunning. This was a great disc for Disney to arrive late to the UHD game with to say the least. Atmos envelopment was decent enough, but definitely not going to win the award for bass movie of the year.... nor did it bother me in the least bit, since I didn't buy it for bass to begin with.

There is still a few possible heavy hitters coming this year or early 2018 to Blu-Ray.

Wonder Woman
War for the Planet of the Apes
Dunkirk
Baby Driver
The mummy
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales
Transformers: The Last Knight (Ha! LOUD!)

I thought at one point in time there was a separate thread for Music tracks that have pretty insane bass. Searched around a bit but couldn't track it down. I had no idea this song was crazy in the bass department as my car stereo sucks!! No subwoofer in my car so just flat out didn't hear the bass on this one until I played it later.

But played it on my HT System this afternoon and well when that first bass sweep from 45Hz to 8Hz hit. Lol

Captured a waterfall from playing the AAC from iTunes (MUTEMATH - War)

Just watched Reference 2 Bass Demo Disc and Pulse impressed me so much, I just ordered the blu-ray from Amazon for $7.47 since Redbox doesn't have it and Netflix only has the DVD. Plus I love me some Kristen Bell!

And with a quote like the one below, it just makes it a MUST HAVE in my opinion!

It is the first movie I've actually seen with a warning label on the BluRay package, and a short video warning before the movie noting that the frequencies played back by the film may damage equipment. This track plays into the lowest of the low frequencies. It truly is a litmus test for what makes a top shelf subwoofer. I've personally heard a $10,000 subwoofer system fall flat its face well before reaching reference level playback on this track. Full range speakers without crossover or HPF protection will likely blow drivers. All charlatan subs are going to puff, chuff, bang, fart, or flat out fail on this track. Proceed with caution! This clip is also cool because the mains and surrounds get a chance to go full on hyperactive. If your system can handle it - this clip is a real treat at reference level playback - but that's a BIG if.

Dude! I'm looking for reasons NOT to buy another V1500, but I think I might cave. I was afraid they might be discontinuing them since they went to the V1801 and V3601 for around $150 more than the previous versions. I figured they'd be coming out with a V1501, but Tom Vodhanel told me they had no plans to update them at this time. Makes me giddy!

Alien, Power Rangers, Kong, and Life (in that order) would definitely be my top 4 this year, minus Hunter's Prayer since I haven't seen it yet.

I just finished Alien: Covenant (AC) and it has tons of bass throughout, especially in the background during most every scene. I think AC is probably my favorite soundtrack so far because of its style of bass, Kong and Power Rangers just pound with brute force; but I appreciate the subtleties in AC, and it still digs deep. IMO, Life had solid bass, but I thought the graph looked much better than the presentation.

I'm guessing Dunkirk will have great low to midbass (30Hz and up) with all the roaring plane engines, gunfire during dogfights, etc., but I don't expect it to dig too deep based on the content (was still awesome in IMAX though). I really hope there are some sleeper bass movies on the horizon!

One of the best things I ever did was going from a single sub to dual subs. And once you start seriously considering moving to duals it pretty hard to convince yourself not to. Especially if you hang out here on AVS. Like I said earlier... big subs are addicting.

One of my first Real LFE/ULF experiences thanks to AVS ...11 years ago
I think someone in the original thread actually had house damage, maybe a water tank or fish tank of some sort, I'll have to search
but I distinctly remember the words "House Destroying Bass" being used.

Pulse on HD-DVD w/TrueHD audio track

...and one of the First test runs on the new Funk 18.0 Subs with the Bluray I picked from the BestBuy bargain bin for $6.99

I saw Dunkirk at an I-MAX and it had good bass, Transformers was a complete dud though. Wonder Woman and Atomic Blonde were the standouts for me this summer, saw them both at an AMC Dolby Cinema.
