Visual stunning with some insane audio to support it!

I just got done watching it. I felt like there was bass in almost every scene There were a few scenes the bass was so low the door in the back of the room was trying to open itself.

Didn't know where else to put this, but this seemed a good a place as any. If you're a fan of the original Independence Day, pick up the 4K versions if the price is good to you. The quality (sound and picture) of this version is the biggest jump going from Blu ray to 4K than any I've seen. My Blu ray was a full screen version, so getting the proper aspect ratio was already a win. Both the video and audio (DTS:X) are massive improvements over the Blu ray. The only comparison I can give is the difference in The Matrix going from standard DVD to Blu Ray. It doesn't look the it was ever graphed (1996?) and it's not a bass monster, but there's plenty of it in the right places. Going to DTS:X cleaned up some of the mid bass and the lower bass seems much improved.

I just watched it again, because you all were raving about the bass... and it is indeed some glorious bass! I forgot I hadn't watched it with the PSAs, yet. Such hard hitting, punching bass! The mounted microwave in the kitchen was vibrating... I only know this because I was popping some popcorn at the time!

I can't remember this being made by the Wachowski Sisters...

I know i'm late to the party but I just watched The Finest Hours, and was blown away by how the bass sucks you right into the movie. Those big waves rolling in over the bar on a scope screen with a couple of sealed 18" JTR subs is virtual reality. I think i'm going to watch it again this weekend! My 6 year old watched it with me, I was impressed with his courage

Yeah, there is already some buzz going on in the background sound effect and then bammmm... A violent wave of bass hits that shakes everything else that wasn't already shaking... The wave lasts for good 5 to 10 seconds...

Yes that first gunshot sequence has ridicules waves of bass and from then on the overall bass picks up. I think that first wave is in the teens Hz so will push any sub at high MV.

Speaker of that, I am shocked how these projectors and electronics in the room hold up to the massive bass poundings for hours on end.

Vibration is one of the big no no`s when it comes to electronics.......

Makes me want to consider some sort of out of room location, like the huge sand tables back when the DJ`s spun records in the club......

I wonder as well. I'm just assuming that is considered in the engineering in today's higher end products. The components back in the day we not dealing with much below 30Hz. High SPL 20Hz or less is a whole different game.

Yep my projector image was shaking on the screen in a couple of scenes in both Jupiter Ascending and The Finest Hours, cant see anyway you could easily stop it happening. It didn't really bother me as I think my head was shaking in sync, so it almost looked like it wasn't shaking at all

If they dont have it yet, i would invent a mount dampening system so at least bass is not effecting the projector through structure and mount.

I just watched The Babadook tonight. In the dark. All alone. For the genre it has some intense, deep rumble rumble rumble.

Both of my Mitsubishi 1080P DLP sets have come down with the dreaded Light Tunnel drift due to bass shaking :/ The 73" has it worse than the 57".

I've tried to adjust the 73" myself going by YouTube instructions, and failed miserably.

I'm just limping along until a specific sale next May when I'll likely snag an LG OLED 65" B or C.

After the somewhat disappointing excursion into THE FOURTH KIND, I almost chimed in with this one -- put it on the disc spinner to assess merit, but got interrupted and had to disengage before hitting the best of the LFE. So never really got around to reaffirming the recommendation there. It is however, effectively creepy in the way it builds suspense. The acting is top notch, and it is based on psychological, real-world issues of caring for a special needs kid. The sense of battling overwhelming forces by oneself, and simultaneously navigating the complexities of the world, all whilst trying to keep a good public face on it, is palpable. Very well done. Fair to say, I was more stricken with the prevailing theme of isolation and struggle to maintain sanity, than by its titular physical manifestation.

Have you tried Don't Breathe, The Dead Room (on Netflix) or Pulse? Pretty much LFE engagement throughout the film.

Yeah, not sure I would agree "about engagement throughout those films," but not sure that is desirable either. I have films in my collection which were replete with almost constant LFE, but boringly implemented. Also, one must experience the lack of the lower frequencies to then appreciate when you get pummeled by it.

And I do like frequent enough pummeling, if there is variety, and good bass content in the music is almost always a plus. DON'T BREATHE is a solid recommendation -- not punctuated too often with the bass bursts, but really notable when it gets unleashed -- good solidity and hammer force when used. PULSE has been around forever -- been using it for for years to cause my eyes to water and test my subs. DEAD ROOM I don't have yet, but definitely on my horizon -- AND BLACK FRIDAY IS A COMIN'!!! Thanks for for highlighting some of the good stuff. DEAD ROOM I hear is relentless!

So I thought Wonder Woman was being released on UHD disc today? Walmart only has it on DVD and Bluray (which does have Atmos), and it was almost $28 for only 1080p! A look around the internet shows no reputable sites selling it in 4K.

I'm actually taking my Wonder Woman 4K steelbook back to Best Buy today at lunch because I hear a disc loose.

And it's not actually real 4K... it was made from a 2K digital intermediate: http://realorfake4k.com/my-product/wonder-woman/

There was a special display near the electronics area in my local Walmart that has all versions, plus they had three more of the UHD in the usual New Release spot; picked mine up there hours ago.

Main: UN78HU9000/SEK-3500 | X4500H (5.1.4) | UDP-203 | TiVo Bolt | Shield | PS4 Pro
2nd: UN65JS9500 | LG LAS855M | UBD-K8500 | Chromecast Ultra | TiVo Mini | Roku P+
3rd: 65P-F1 | Klipsch HDT-SB3 | UBP-X700 | Tivo Roamio | AppleTV4K
FS - Hot Fuzz and other UHD Digital codes (and some HD codes)
