Anyone seen Baby Driver?
http://m.imdb.com/title/tt3890160/

I had a couple friends highly recommend it, and from the description it seems like it'd have some solid bass and a good sountrack. Might pick it up on my way home...sounds like a slightly different take on Drive (2011), which was awesome.

Hmmm, doesn't come out on disc until 10/10, the Flixster app said 9/12 it'd be in stores, guess that was streaming only.

I watched it 2 weeks ago and the movie was cool, loved the music but the bass was disappointing. Maybe it was just the copy I yanked down, who knows.

It's on my SteelBook to buy list. Hopefully it had really nice bass because the reviews are stellar. It's so hard to not see spoilers with YouTube and instgram .

It was a cool movie and the music was nice but I thought the bass didn't match the action on the screen. I will buy it if the audio on the Bluray scores high in the bass department.

Saw it at the theater so can't say how the bass will be. I won't give any spoilers but the movie starts better than it ends IMO.

Still pretty good movie for what it is. Worth a watch, not sure if it's worth a buy, at least to me.

Just watched on family room system. No sub 2ch system. The speakers bottomed the receiver. Guess that's why you don't mix a $6000 pair of speakers with a $800 receiver Bass was nuts. Thanks man.

I heard this series was coming to Netflix eventually, but I'm not so sure about that since it's on the CBS subscription service. Looks to have great production values, but all I have read online is haters complain about the JJ Abrams look and feel of it...which I like. Maybe a touch less lens flair would be nice, but outside of the non JJ directed mess that was Star Trek Beyond, I've enjoyed the new direction the series has taken. And that bass!

Even the Discovery episodes available from TerrariumTV had the bass, which usually isn't the case; and it was shaking the couch at low volumes, good enough for my tastes.

I'm a fan of Into The Badlands. Has it been graphed yet? While there isn't driving bass throughout, the myriad fight scenes all have some decent bass drops mixed in. My couch-o-meter tells me a few of the bass drops go below 20hz

Plus, I just love the fight scenes, they're amazingly well done even if pure fantasy. Doesn't hurt that I'm in lust with The Widow

*edit* Also, thanks to whoever suggested the Blomkamp3 collection....Mr Grey? Just received it, and wow, this is a lot of content for $15!

Yeah, Amazon said it would be a week but I got those Blurays yesterday. Nice collection for $15 and the Ultraviolet code is good until 12/31/18. Going to start watching them later tonight.

The ultraviolet code I got with EoT expires in a week so I registered it last night and watched the opening credits back to back on VUDU, then with the Bluray. There's definitely a difference! With the digital copy, the bass at MV -8dB felt about right. With the Bluray at MV -8dB the woofers just about jumped out of my center channel that has an 80hz crossover. The last two sine waves (guessing 10 & 5hz?) just made a flapping noise through the sub. I can't imagine very many people have a sub that can actually reproduce that opening scene at all, much less without distortion? A sealed 18" with at least 1000w has to be cutting it close. Adding more ported subs would help me punch out the 15hz sine wave but the 10hz... I'm not even trying to chase down that frequency response. 20-30hz at high SPL is still pretty exiting stuff for me. I guess maybe a very near field sealed sub might do it for the stuff under 15hz.

As I said in the PSA forum, the S3000i handles the beginning of Edge of Tomorrow beautifully!

Just ordered up the new Transformers 4k, Prometheus 4k and Jupiter Ascending 4k.
I'm off this whole weekend so will be watching at reference lol.
Probably give Wonder Woman another go since I just skipped thru it real fast.
I changed the orientation of my front subs so they're firing into the room now as opposed towards the wall so can't wait to see how it sounds!

Also moved my 15v's a little closer to mlp.
If anyone is interested in Jupiter Ascending blu ray or Prometheus blu ray let me know.
I also have Dredd and Oblivion blu rays I no longer need.

We had the same experience. My family's eyes opened wide at that scene and they looked at me with an expression of terror on their faces. At the end, when she kills "that guy", the bass felt like it was levitating my furniture. I'm loving the power and deep extension of this new sub. Wonder Woman is one of the best movies I've seen in many years.

Tonight... Transformers - The Last Knight.

I just watched Man of Steel again tonight, it's just ridiculous audio all around, top 10 in bass, for sure.
WW has some great bass moments, but not a top 10, imo.

The EoT waves are at 10,15,20,25 and 30Hz

I have a pair of sealed 18's w/4800w peak each in front (about 4' from MLP ) that can dig to 10Hz
...for 20-30Hz I also have a pair of even closer 15" ported Velodynes right behind the MLP (2000w peak each)

Spoiler!

WW has some great bass moments, but not a top 10, imo.

That should do the trick.

So 15hz is where my ported 15" started running out of steam and then pretty much just fluttered at 10hz. I've got a huge room so planning on a PSA V3601 that actually has the same listed FR as the V1500. I'm not really interested in chasing down to 10hz, high SPL from 20hz and up is more realistic for the open floor plan I've got. Maybe add a sealed sub very nearfield once I have dual or quad ported 18's...? All in all I was satisfied with the bass throughout EoT from the single 15" I have at the moment. Just the few seconds at the very beginning where I'm guessing most ported subs start to tap out.

Watching Elysium now. It's got some good bass but you have to turn up the MV. Could have been mixed louder as Mr Grey mentioned a page or two back.

MoS
Man of Steel may not go as low as WW, but has waaaay more tactile bass moments, those graphs just don't tell the whole story, and most rooms/subs aren't gonna hear/feel those frequencies under 20hz anyway, let's just be honest here.

LOL,

WW crushes MoS from 20Hz to 40Hz too, it's not just the extension below 20Hz

Man of Steel (7.1 DTS-HD MA)

Level - 5 Stars (113.0dB composite)
Extension - 2 Star (23Hz)
Dynamics - 4 Stars (25.3dB)

Execution - 3 Stars (by poll)

Overall - 3.5 Stars

Recommendation - Rent

Notes: Man of Steel could have been EPIC! Instead, it's a huge disappointment in terms of bass. The sound mix has no extension, and was just spotty all-around for LFE effects. Sometimes, huge stuff happened on screen and there was almost nothing below 80Hz, such as when the terraforming device plants itself in the Indian Ocean. Then, there were other times when rather mundane stuff is happening on screen and there was lots of high bass, such as every time a beetle-shaped ship flew by.

I've read a bunch of reviews online - all absolutely raving about the LFE - but I cannot believe anyone who has a capable system would think this mix was good in terms of LFE. The whole track was just so inconsistent, I wouldn't give it more than a 2 for execution - it loses for the complete lack of extension, but mostly for sound design that really had me wondering if my amp had shut down at various points. It's another great opportunity squandered by Hollywood.

It's funny, I don't remember thinking the sound was all that great on this movie, but remember, that review was for the dts hd track on the blu-ray, but the Atmos track on the 4k disc is no joke. I was truly impressed with the bass and sound design, more so than WW, which had some good moments, but didn't blow me away like the MoS atmos track....just my personal opinion.
