hey chief - no arguments here, I fully agree -as I'm also one of his customers patiently waiting on an email. I've been waiting 8 months for a replacement SubMersive cabinet as mine arrived damaged by FedEx
Again, hopefully @Mark Seaton is ok, and chimes in here soon to cool things down

It's probably to late, but cant hurt to try contacting your visa company and file a claim against Seaton to get your money back. Either way this is not good for Mark as nobody wants to hear he's not well or battling some crisis,,, on the other hand if he's well,,, and this is going on that doesn't look good either. After six months, zero communication, and no subs, i'd be trying to get a refund.

I often see him around the AVS $20,000+ high-end forum. Maybe he values the high net worth clients more than us commoners.

My experience with Mark has been very good. I have 10 F18's. He did a good job of setting delivery expectations and was with in a couple weeks of his dates. He has a great product at a good value. That may have spiked the demand which could be impacting his supply chain.

I hope he is able to resolve the issues and get product for the outstanding orders.

He also lives in Australia, so doesn't have much choice. As far as Seaton goes, he seems a good guy with good products, so I hope he gets his business figured out.

Yep.
It was insured , and the claim was filed within 30 minutes of delivery, with all relevant photos and paperwork sent away that same day. Mark emailed on the 4th of August saying a new cabinet (no drivers/amp - as they are fine) would be sent out in the next few weeks.

I LOVE my SubMersives, but to be honest, this has soured the experience quite a bit. My previous ID audio dealings have been with SVS and PSA, so this has obviously been a bit of a shock to the system lol

With you being in Australia, I hope your amps stay working for a very long time. I don’t know about yours but my amp stay on 24hrs. And they get hot. So now I turn them off manually

yeah so do I!!, and mine stay on 24/7 too. I'm looking at upgrading to the newer style amps with 12v trigger and Auto on functions as soon as Mark gets back to me. Won't be trading these amps in though and will keep them as spares.

I’ve been in touch with Mark 4-5 times over the past 6 weeks. He was super nice, informative and supplied not 1 but 3 subs for the Houston GTG. He is totally legit. He was part of the reason the Houston GTG was a success. So, I’m speculating that something personal has happened. I for one, hope everything is ok with him and his family. That being said, I can understand the frustration and I can only hope he contacts each of you soon who are waiting a reply.

My SubM and its slave have stopped outputting.

The red LED flashes four times, short pause, then one flash, then long pause, and repeat.

I power cycled the unit but the error code came back.

I didn’t have time to trouble shoot tonight, but leaving it unplugged.

Any suggestions on what to try in the morning??

If nobody is available from Seaton, try contacting SpeakerPower, hopefully they can help you from what appears to be an amp issue.

Contact Mark, it can be a little "difficult" to get a response some times but he will take care of it. I know that he has contacted at least one of the forum members who has been trying to get in contact with him recently

Confirm with speaker power but IIRC that code indicates the amplifier needs to be sent back for diagnostics and repair.

I still haven’t received my subs. Mark mailed me on 25 oktober that the subs will be shipped later that day. Haven’t heard of him since. Is there a way to get my money back? I have paid with a bank transfer.

This thread as of late looks a lot like the EPIK thread did before they went under. Not returning voice mails, emails, nobody knows where the owner is.....This is really sad. Seaton has (or soon to be....had) such a great reputation for quality stuff.

I just received some emails from Mark yesterday, which was an inquiry I made last weekend (4 days ago). So perhaps not the fastest response, but definitely not uncommunicative

Does anyone have knowledge on how to remove the plate amp from a HP+ Submersive?

I have removed the screws from around the edge of the amplifier but it appears “sealed” into its recessed opening and I am leary to try a forceful pry as it will likely damage the black oak wood veneer edge around the amp.

Before I resort to this type of persuasion, I wanted to see if I am missing something obvious.

Appreciate any advice.

Mark gave instruction on his Web Site, but basically you leave both the power & audio connected (at the amp end, but not the "wall end") using those two connectors (Handles) as leverage to get the amp out using a rocking motion.

Since Jeff (JTR) and Mark Seaton both use speaker power amps, I’m going to tell you what I did. Once you have all the screws out there is a rubber gasket with adhesive to seal amp plate to the cabinet. Use a flat head screw driver and place in between the edge of the amp and the cabinet. To prevent damage to the cabinet you can try using towel or rag between the screw driver and the cabinet. Now, you aren’t doing this to pry out the amp, you are only trying to loosen it. I would start at the end with the power socket. Using very little force at first try moving up or down, not out away from the cabinet. If you can get it to wiggle keeping doing this and it should loosen more. Then use some needle nose pliers and grab the heavy duty power socket on the plastic lip and see if it will pull out some. Again, use just enough force to get things moving. One day it is loose be sure to not pull on the amp plate until you know how much wire you have to play with.

Let me know if this makes sense. If not I can try and post some pics. Or, I’m in Houston too, PM me and we can talk on the phone.

Todd

Edit: Nevermind, too late. 😉

I remember replacing an amp years ago ( may have been a cat speaker) - I think I wrote a post on ordeal on old seaton forums - the pressure seal was unreal - freakin me out how hard had to yank and big pop - was so relieved when installed new amp and actually worked-

I just had @appelz come in this week to install Trinnov and recalibrate my room. I have 4 Seaton F18s upfront (4 inwall Triad balancing subs in back).

Conclusion: Simply stunning. Flat as a ruler response down to 15 Hz with usable response down into single digits. I haven’t had much time to listen but I would swear my hair moved on heavy bass scene in Ready Player One! Amazing. Not sure if Trinnov bass management played into this, but bass was even more impressive than before.

Adam set up four settings- movie standard, movie action (which goosed bass at a certain Hz level for tactile impact), nighttime (minimal bass so as to not wake up baby), and music. Nice having different settings and bass options.

Long story short: the F18s are highly recommended. Very happy. I would also give a quick plug to Adam Pelz @appelz ) if anyone is looking for calibration.
