HiVi/Swans Subs?

I'm in the market for a decent sub, would prefer to keep it <= $1,000. Hsu was the front-runner, but I've since ruled them out. As much as I want something that performs very well, I also want something that looks like more than just a giant big box. I've also ruled out svs for mostly the same reason, though I was tempted by their SB2000 for a bit. Still am.

Anyway, on to the topic at hand. Ten or so years ago, Swan's Diva line was held in pretty high regard. I had a pair of their 6.1 and loved them, as well as the M200 originals. They have more products now but I'm having trouble finding out any real information on their subs. I'm specifically looking at their Sub10M, which at least looks to be in keeping with the old Divas from a build quality perspective, and at ~65lbs is on the heavy side for 12" subs which is (naively?) reassuring. The rated power (150w) seems low-ish. Really I'm just looking for somebody with experience with any of their current products, who can either vouch for them or tell me to definitively steer clear. Aesthetically at least, this thing is kind of exactly what I'm looking for.

Congrats! Sounds like a good compromise between performance, looks, and price.

Honestly I was convinced I wanted to go with hsu or svs, but I either didn't want something that large, or just wasn't interested in ponying up for the one I *really* wanted. The hsu unit I was interested in (VTF-3) is just too big. I was really interested in the SB2000 at first, but read mixed reviews on whether folks were satisfied with actual output, and I wasn't interested in spending that much money for something that wouldn't blow me away. I'd looked at the SB13u but the price was just too much. Then I saw the fine folks here mention they often have "outlet" specials, and sure enough they've got a handful of the SB13u for $999. Size is good, price is what I was looking to pay, and everything I'm seeing says this thing will knock my socks off (I'm currently using an Emotiva BasX Sub8). Couple all of that with a 45-day trial and 5-year warranty and I really don't have much to lose. I also have a thing for piano black, so...
