Instructions on keeping your output settings while loading a BEQ file onto the inputs using BEQ Designer
Make sure you have your default config saved beforehand

1 select file/ADD BEQ Filter
2 select the BEQ file you wish to load
3 select file/export biquad and select 96000 and make sure MiniDSP is ticked and click the save icon and save to a text file in a location you'll remember
4 Using the 2x4 plugin software, select one of the inputs, then select PEQ, then advanced (bottom left) then import (on the right).
5 select the file you just saved and click open
6 You can also save the config again with a movie name and start to build up your own library of BEQ files for future use with all your outputs still in tact.
7 When you have finished watching, simply reload your default config back to the config slot

About 6 and 7:
You already save the BEQ biquad, and it is much faster to just do step. 4 for each movie, than saving each as a full config.
When done instead of reloading your default config(takes time), just go back to the PEQ and press "clear"(instant, no waiting).

The library would just be the BEQ biquad files

Alright, I just updated all of the posts for these. I have one humble request for future ones. Can you please fully specify the track as 5.1 or 7.1? For John Wick 2 you did specify it, but for the others you just specified DTSMA and TrueHD. I like to fully specify it in my posts so there's no confusion for anyone between the mixes that have 5.1 and 7.1 versions. Thanks again for doing them!

Thanks, worked a treat! Now is there a way we can batch convert the BEQ config files to biquads?

Also - I've been playing around with the BEQ designer. The main movies are always covered but I'm an avid watcher of TV shows and would like to create some BEQ for things like Arrowverse shows. Is there a good design tutorial? When I'm EQing for Subs REW has an automatic calculator to hit a target response. Is that something you can do with the BEQ designer? Or is it just tiral and error?

I pondered this early on. The info is in the files and in theory could be scripted, however due to the 2x4 & 2x4HD having different frequencies (48/96hz) it's a bit more complex... And there's an app in development anyway!

I hacked a quick batch updater together which allows you to pick your own minidsp config file and then blats out a copy of that file for each entry in the beq git repo overwriting the specified PEQ slots (i.e. where the beq filters live in that repo) as it goes with the contents of the BEQ

I can't test this at all as I don't have a minidsp so that means I have no idea if a minidsp will accept these files, the xml looks valid though so one would hope it does but I strongly recommend you check what comes out is valid If it blows up in some way then let me know what happens! I mean if the app blows up btw, you're on your own if you blow up your sub

note that I'm using a random file from the git repo as my master config file just because I have no other such config files, the intended use is that you export your current config (containing whatever eq you need for your subs) to an xml file and use that as the config file to feed into it

will publish a build shortly

@DesertDog I could build that for you if you like though if you do have access to a windows machine then just install anaconda and then update pip, if you use numpy/scipy then get conda to install that otherwise it's fine to just use pip (i.e. it's behaves the same as python on osx and linux).

I discovered there was something wrong with my Transformers Atmos track. I have no idea what happened to it, but I went back and re-did it from scratch and updated the BEQ. Since I take safety so seriously, I also went and checked all the other past tracks I've extracted for the same issue and didn't find any. Sorry for the mistake, fellas.

The Ironhide Flip is a sweep from 50Hz to 30Hz, and BEQ does give it more weight that should make the sweep feel fuller and more extended a bit:

By any chance do you have Power Rangers (2017) 5.1 DTS-MA? I'm noticing UK and Mexico get often the same audio tracks.

1 select file/ADD BEQ Filter
2 select the BEQ file you wish to load
3 select file/export biquad and select 96000 and make sure MiniDSP is ticked and click the save icon and save to a text file in a location you'll remember

7 When you have finished watching, simply reload your default config back to the config slot

Any idea why when I follow these instructions when trying to import the biquad text file into the MiniDSP I get the error:

"Error input: Missing biquad value(s) Please re-enter."

When doing any particular actions? And/or in comparison to which build?

If it is in comparison to 0.6.1 then the change in the way smoothing works does cost some CPU but it should not be a significant effect. I guess that might depend on what you are running on though.

If it is in comparison to 0.6.1 then the change in the way smoothing works does cost some CPU but it should not be a significant effect. I guess that might depend on what you are running on though.
I did a fresh install of it, and pretty much every action was lagging. The only lag that I had experienced with previous builds was during creating signals, and when adding filters to analyze the audio track. Hence my surpise with this one being so slow to respond.

I'll try re-installing and see if it may have just been a fluky thing going on. Hopefully that was the case.

BassEQ The Kid Who Would Be King (2019) Atmos

I tamed that HUGE spike at ~14Hz, but one could leave out that PEQ if they want to leave it intact.

It has to be something flukey going on then. Ill re-install it whenever I get home later to see if that corrects it.
