I was thinking the same thing when I just entered it for the repo. After forcing myself to watch Godzilla (1998) last week I don't think I can do this one. At least Godzilla had an atmos track that was worth hearing once.

Thanks, is this for the theatrical or director's cut? Double checking since the UHD has both on it. My guess is that it'll be good for either cut.

I watched Pride and Prejudice and Zombies UHD last night. I know it isn't on the list, but there was some awesome thumping subwoofer heat in it.

Director's Cut. Sorry, I meant to put that in the post. I just edited it.

I’ve got everything downloaded, the movies, github, beq designer, etc.

I’m struggling on how to export my eq filters on my output to an xml file so I can do the quick beq loading. Do I do that from the mini dsp plug in, or rew?

The eq I loaded into the output of the mini dsp was a text file from rew

Load the miniDSP software, bypass any filters you may have on the input channels
Make sure your output channels have your EQ settings and hit File>save configuration in the top left corner.
(create a new folder on your hard drive to save the new house curve.xml file)

Load the BEQ Designer app,
hit Ctrl-X (or select merge from the tools menu)
Where you are prompted for your "config file" select the file you just created.

Hit save and your entire movie list will be overwritten with your settings merged to the movie BEQ titles.

Load any movie to the miniDSP and double check the input/output channels have loaded correctly

Thanks! Got it. I will have to mess with it some more. After I load the beq, the beq stuff shows up on the input, but my rew eq stuff doesn’t show up on the output side after I load the beq...or maybe it’s not supposed to?

I might have saved one of the empty configurations in the 2x4. I will need to recheck. My bachelor weekend is now over as the fam is returning today. My weekend of bass is coming to a halt. Lol

Hey guys, read through a bunch of this over the past few days and would like to give it a try! I currently have 4 subs powered by 2 NX6000D's and am using the Behringer dsp for my HPF, a high shelf to get a little boost below 20HZ, and a single band PEQ. Can I use the Behringer DSP and just manually input the BEQ settings? If not, where in my signal chain would I put a 2x4hd? I currently run:

Denon x4400
(2 Rca cables)
Jensen Sub 2RX (an isolator for a ground loop issue, has Rca in and XLR out)
(2 XLR cables, one each to following amps)
2 NX6000d in biamp1 mode (single signal into 2 sub channels)
(4 speakon cables)
4 Mini Marty UM18-22 subwoofers

If it needs to be after the isolator I could replace it with a rca in/ rca out isolator? Thanks in advance for any direction you could offer!

SPEAKERS: 3 x DIYSG 1099's LCR; DIYSG HTM 6's and 8's surround; 4 x RSL C34E Atmos; 4 x UM18-22 Mini Marty's.
COMPONENTS: Denon X4400; Minidsp 2x4 HD; 2 x Jensen Iso Sub 2RX; 2 x NX6000d; Epson 5040UB.

It is supposed to load the BEQ settings to the inputs and your personal EQ to the outputs at the same time.
Your merge function didn't work, which version of BEQ Designer are you using?
Did you notice the number of titles counting up to over 700 as they were written to your save folder?

Is it possible your merged files where saved in a different directory than the one you selected for loading in the miniDSP?
I had two different directories where my movie BEQ's were saved, the most current one will have a more recent date/time.
(I then went back in and deleted the old non-merged list so I wouldn't load from there by mistake)

Thanks for all of the pointers, I will go through and double check all of those. I used the small version you referenced in the initial post on this thread.

When I did the merge it went 700+ files.

I will have To take a look at it again when I get home. I’m sure it’s something dumb/simple that I’m just missing.

I recently watched Godzilla as well, and while it wasn't the easiest movie to sit through, B&R was so bad that it had me asking myself, "What the hell was Schumaker smoking whenever he put this thing together?".

On another note, I've been off the grid for a bit trying to get the new AVR integrated (replaced my Onkyo with a Denon). It seems that the Denon sends a hotter signal from the sub outs than the Onkyo did, so I had a bit of a time trying to get it re-calibrated. Since then, I've rewatched a few of my favorite BEQ's and have not only been impressed with the LFE, but the overall surround processing is so much better (more immersive) than what the Onyko provided. That's with or without BEQ.

Next up...Captain Marvel!

You can't use the Behringer DSP for BEQ because it doesn't do filters < 20 hz. You'll lose a lot of BEQ if you can't do that. I'd recommend getting a miniDSP 2x4 HD for your setup since they're great and will allow you to us the rest of the tools we have going. You should be able to put it between the Denon and isolator so that you can keep the XLR going to the amps.

BassEQ Fast Five (2011) Extended DTS:X

I had to leave the <10Hz down there or it would clip.

+41 @ 23 hz! That's what you call "lacking." I knew these neutered the low frequencies, but wow.

@aron7awol anecdotal impression only (i.e. I am too lazy to go and review previous filters) so take with a pinch of salt but have you lifted your target curve? I get the impression the beq'ed section is generally higher in level than the rest of the curve recently (or put another way, it is not just correcting hpf).

Quick question..
I'm new to this thread and have a MiniDSP 2x4 HD.

To enter movie eq correction from this forum. Do I just enter those numbers on top right corner in photo into output eq section on minidsp?

Sorry if this seems silly to ask, just could not find the exact procedure on how we are on this forum entering the correction..

Thanks

I just went back through the last few pages to look at my recent BEQs, and I think Fast Five is kind of the exception, but I do know what you're getting at. I'm definitely picking up the midbass in that particular case to shape the curve to "fit" between the final boosted levels of the ULF and the upper range.

Edit to add: Of course I can't know whether I'm actually countering a HPF since I don't know what the original HPFs added were, but compared to the shape of a "normal" mix it seems to dip in that range so I may in fact be countering a gentle HPF that rolled everything off in that range. I can't be sure, but I think it's preferable with the boosted level of the ULF anyway.
