That sounds like a good workaround for a bypass.

Now for my sub amp, (Behringer EP2500 btw) it accepts 1/4" TRS connections. Do I just use a unbalanced RCA to 1/4" TRS adaptor or is it a TS adaptor?
Since it will be a mono signal from the MiniDSP, I'm assuming it will be TS...
TS mono should work... (someone with a Behringer should be able to confirm)

FWIW, it's cheaper at Barnes & Noble (who Amazon is price matching). It's $59.99 and there's a 20% off coupon code FATHERSDAY at B&N making it $47.99 (+ tax) with free shipping. It probably won't come the next day, but for an extra $12 off a little patience is okay.

Stellar job to you all and anyone else that has been instrumental on this project! Honestly, this is a ton of work and you all have elevated everyone's bass game x1000 because of your hard work.

I've messed around with this a bit but just now loaded and merged my HC with every movie on the list. My friends tvuong and imureh say they can not, nay, will not listen to movies without BEQ............I'm now in the same boat.

On behalf of my subs and letting them off the chain.........I thank you!

Agreed! I also just got into it and it’s a game changer.

Cannot thank these guys enough not only for all the work they put into it, but the help they provide to get people going. Unreal!

Great Deal, not for me though (in Canada)
Hard to beat a bit over $6 ea for 4K/UHD/DTS:X,
and the set actually comes with 17 discs and Digital Codes.

I know these are cheesy movies, but they are entertaining especially now with BEQ.

I'm an old gear head that grew up in the 60's muscle car era, just a bit older than Vin.
My first car was a Black 68' Charger, (MOPAR or No Car!), My current daily driver is a Supercharged Hemi Ram 4x4 (lowered)
Cars, Trucks, Jeeps, and Motorcycles...ALL get modded, 100% DIY and nothing stays stock for very long for some reason

Part reason why I didn't hesitate to jump in to get the BEQ thread started
There's ALWAYS room for improvement, Stock Sucks and BEQ is like Bass on Nitrous!

Step Up (we've got the blu ray) is one of my wife's favorite movies... any chance we can get a BEQ to help the bass?

Or since it's mostly music maybe there isnt any low frequency stuff.

I can't comment on what it sounds like without BEQ,
But the graphs clearly show there isn't much going on below 25Hz without it. (right side)

For today's matinee I picked up a 24 pack of Corona, a couple limes
Popped a huge batch of popcorn and spun the first F&F 4K disc this afternoon.

It didn't need too much help until <20Hz

I just looked at the graph for next one before loading,
2F2F would have been a hard pass at just 40Hz without BEQ

2 Fast 2 Furious was worth the 4K upgrade for the HDR alone with all that Neon. (... and Eva Mendes)
Had to watch the first Chapter Twice, first time on the OLED then immediately reached for the JVC remote lol!

Can I request Victoria?: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4226388...7?ref_=nv_sr_7

Is it only aron that can determine the filters? I'd like to contribute. The guides seem to be about implementation rather than calculation.

EDIT: I read the first posts properly this time. I'm currently working on Victoria.

Can we get an update for Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle? I would like to look at the graph to see what was making my subwoofer go crazy when the helicopter/ White Rhino scene happens. I looked like it made my subwoofer move a scary amount, and I heard it bottom out. This was the first movie that has ever happened on, and I was listening at -5 compared to what I usually listen at.

I had a go at doing one. Here's my first pass at Victoria. I left in the spike at 65Hz as that doesn't appear to be caused by any of the filters.
I only worked with the LFE channel, is that correct? And I'm not sure if I'm just boosting a bunch of noise.

Thoughts?

EDIT: Attachments removed to prevent accidental damage.

This is just my opinion and I mean no disrespect, but I don’t think just anyone should start posting their own stabs at the beq stuff in this thread.

Then again on second thought I only use the links on the first page so it might not really matter. Just trying to save someone from causing damage to their gear.

So I am late to the game on this. Seems like it makes sense, and there are definitely movie scenes where I thought "that should have had stronger bass" - Marvel movies instantly come to mind.

What doesn't seem so attractive though is having to use a computer to preload settings for each individual movie I want to watch into the DSP. Am I correct in understanding that all of you guys are deciding on a movie to watch, finding the suggested filters, loading them, then watching the movie - THEN making sure you clear them when the movie is over so as not to mess up the next movie?

Pretty much. The alternative is to remux the filtered tracks into the movie, but you lose Atmos/DTS:X metadata

Got a better idea?

No, because it is an old BEQ before BEQdesigner had all of its goodies addin in to fine tune Arons craft. Also it doesn't have a peak spectrum graph with time stamps to show how hard the bass it hitting a particular scene.

For me it takes less than 30 seconds to do everything you mentioned, and by the time I am done the bluray player has got me on the title screen.
