hey guys - anyone having this issue with minidsp + wi-dg?.... 9 out of 10 times when i open the 2x4hd plug in and hit connect i get an error "Connection to the board timed out, please check your USB connection". If i then go in and unplug power to the 2x4 and then plug back in to restart, it will always work. So i am having to always go into my AV closet and reboot the 2x4. Anyone having this issue?

Yes, mine started to get wonky this past week as well. It failed to connect and lost connection a bunch of times. I manually entered the IP address to get it going each time.

I've noticed this if I connect on one computer, don't close it and then try to access it from another computer. I think it is keeping the connection open, thus the USB port is showing as busy on the other session.

Probably similar to ejecting a drive on windows, red and green flags etc

We watched Us last night. It didn't have a ton of bass, but they did a really good job taking advantage of Atmos with the mix in general, and the BEQ added some really cool sudden hard-hitting transients in the perfect moments to startle you, for those with TR devices such as Crowsons.

... Oh what a Glorious Monday! one of my all time favorites was waiting in the mailbox for me
The use of constant low bass during the entire first chapters to build tension is freaking epic with BEQ!

I'm just getting to the night scenes now, so shyte's about to get real, I had to take 10 minutes to grill up a big steak on the BBQ)
The 4K is laser sharp, WCG very noticeable improvement over bluray and the Dolby Vision highlights stand out against the OLED's infinite blacks
...SO worth the $19! ($14 if you shop around)

honestly, smartphone photos don't do the real PQ justice

It's not just Marvel, Pixar titles also got nerfed.
(Cars 3, The Incredibles 2, Toy Story 4k's)

I think their first major audio screwup was
The Last Jedi 4K/UHD/ATMOUSE

Pretty sad for the first Lucasfilm to hit 4K/UHD.

Toy Story 4k’s??? Based on what I saw of the graphs between the new Toy Story 4k’s and the old Blu-ray’s I don’t recall seeing much difference. I have the sealed 4k Toy Story Steel Books in the queue. Maybe I need to return them.

Did I miss something???

If you don't use BEQ, you miss a LOT.

It doesn't matter what Disney does, we have Aron lol!
Just look at the graphs (listed on on page 1) to see the difference.

Of course and BEQ is a given for me! Not arguing with the need for it on these titles AT ALL.

However my question with regard to “the difference” was related to the any differences between the new 4K Toy Stories and the earlier Blu-ray ‘s??? I took the previous statement to mean that Disney blundered the new 4K Toy Story releases by neutering/filtering bass (similar to the Incredibles and other newly released titles we have discussed here). These are older releases that although not as extended and impactful as we might like, actually sounded pretty decent on Blu-ray (I still use the opening TS 2 sequence as a reference).

Question is did Disney filter or otherwise compromise the new Toy Story 4K’s in relation to the old transfers?

Anybody with 13 Hours on 4K have this artifact? Time stamp in pic at 59.56. Looks like a purple line.

Just picked it up today. Absolutely awesome with the BEQ. My house is feeling it, probably my neighbors too.

Looks like a camera artifact from the bright light. (not your camera, but the one that shot the scene)

That’s kinda what I was thinking.

Might be unlikely , but is my copy flawed? I’ll see if anyone else replies.

This also exists on the original Blu-ray... I just checked. As mentioned before, it's a natural camera artifact from the bright light. There is nothing wrong with the discs or the film.

That's a lens flare due to the use of anamorphic lenses. It's a unique characteristic of shooting with anamorphic lenses (see most 80s/90s action movies as well as anything JJ Abrams has shot for instance). I believe a combination of intense color grading and perhaps some clipping in the blue channel on the digital cam they used on 13 Hours contributed to the odd look here. I noticed it on the blu-ray when it first came out. It looks odd to me as well even knowing what anamorphic flares look like.
