Are you reading this to say that using the term “house curve” (with a link to Wayne’s excellent article) somehow negates the rest of the instructions dealing with REW and EQ? I’m reading them as helpful “value added” background in a very easy to follow walk through in setting up BEQ (which, along with rew, I have found to be one of the best bang-for-the-buck tools in HT).
My point was that the instructions were not so clear as to which user settings are being merged into the files from the repo, or if you're looking at it the other way which user settings in the config.xml will be overwritten by the per movie settings from the repo. It still doesn't really say.

For anyone considering getting into BEQ, I just want to tell you it's very very simple. I got started this weekend. Download 2-3 programs and you'll be ready to watch your first movie within 30 min to an hour max!

From then on it'll only take 30 seconds (or less) anytime you want to watch a BEQ'd movie. Highly recommend!!!

Thank you to everyone who's involved in making this happen! From the easy to follow instructions, to the BEQ graphs and filter #'s (idk what to call them lol), and the BEQ designer.

All of the input filters on all of the inputs are currently overwritten to the per movie values in the repo. Everything else is left untouched and is passed through.

We've talked about adding an option that's on by default to set the compressor on the outputs as a safety measure but it hasn't been done yet. I think I might add it though once I'm done with the feature I'm currently working on.

I see you just got started and we’re going to watch the Fast and Furious ? I highly recommend starting from the first movie if you did not. The BEQ bass is incredible in those first two movies. My wife and I are not huge fans of the franchise but picked up the 8 film collection and are having a blast with it.

+1 I watched it last night and it was great. Both the sound and picture were amazing. The story was even good for the most part. Not too much of it bothered me (unlike Robin Hood (2018) that I tried on Saturday night). It did feel like it was setting itself up for a sequel though.

I think the question posed was what happens to the output channel settings when a BEQ is loaded from the Repo,
The BEQ movie values in the Repo go the Input channels, But the Output channels in the Repo BEQ's all have 0 values.
So that's what you end up with when you download a movie BEQ from the Repo.

If you had existing information on the Output channels of your miniDSP
Whether it's imported REW Bi-Quads/Filters, Manual Sub EQ, House Curve,
or all of the above...they will be overwritten with zero'd out values *poof* gone!

The primary purpose of the BEQ-D app Merge function was to enable a BEQ from the Repo
to be combined with your personal settings on your Output channels (saved as a config.xml file)

Your config file can be anything you want to save from your Output channels, (Sub-EQ, Bi-Quads, House Curve, or all the above)
You are free to name your config file anything you want... just make sure you save it separate from your Movie BEQ xml file folders.

Updated to Atmos...this is the first track I've seen with any significant difference between lossless Atmos and lossy DD+ Atmos. It still seems like it's the same mix, just with a bit of a level difference and slightly different "tilt" to the response.

Lightbulb New (old) BEQ Request

Man @aron7awol , is banging these out! Are you trying to get to 1,000 BEQs before the 1 year anniversary of this thread?

Speaking of, I was looking through my UHD Blu collection for some unwatched titles (a break from my MCU marathon), and I'm not seeing Gods of Egypt (2016) DTS:X on the list; would you be able to give this one a little BEQ magic?

Gods of Egypt was awesome with BEQ! When you're finished with the MCU marathon, a greek mythology marathon will continue the ULF TR wobble smiles.

This weekend, for a hurricane party, we watched Clash of the Titans, Wrath of the Titans and Gods of Egypt. None of these disappointed in the wobble department. Quite the opposite as some guests shouted with joy during some of the scenes.

@aron7awol thanks for this! Loving me some ST season 3 on Netflix ATM.

How do your BEQ filters work for a whole season like this? I should be using the same posted filters for all episodes of season 3 correct? You average all episodes together to establish filters or something like that?

Also, thought it interesting that you set one negative gain filter for this one. Not used to seeing that (still relatively new to BEQ though)

Yeah, I'm going through my collection doing some that seem to have some good BEQ potential, while also working toward 900 and eventually 1000!

Good idea with Gods of Egypt. I'm extracting it now, and I'll do it along with the two Titans movies tomorrow, while continuing to work my way through my collection.

Yeah! We just watched episode 4.

Each line on the graph is an episode, and I find the set of filters that works best for all of them while also making sure it is safe when used on each of them.

Negative filters are somewhat common. You'll see them from time to time depending on the shape of the mix and what I'm trying to do with it.

I had mentioned trying to manually input my first BEQ movie to Fast 6 which has massive levels of filtering and I didn't want to mess up so I didn't do it.

I bought the 8 movie collection also and half way through the first movie it froze on me. Amazon is replacing it for me. Even tho we only saw half the bass was great without BEQ and the picture quality wooow! I have an OLED and it looks beautiful!

Can't wait to give it another try BEQ'd!

Celebrating my 50th and the 50th of the Apollo 11, I've been on a bender of watching NASA and space related BEQd movies. The Right Stuff. Apollo 11. Gravity. Cloverfield Paradox. Apollo 13. First Man. Interstellar.

I'm thinking now I should fire up Apollo 18 as well. I love that movie, oddly, although so many hate it. The accuracy of their reproductions were fantastic, including the designs for the Russian lander. It is also the only film I've ever seen where they actually give you a decent idea of life in the LEM, for the long lunar landings on the latter missions, with the sleeping arrangements etc.

Thank you so much Aaron!

Geo I don’t remember but how deep do your subs dig in room? I know the V1801 is higher tuned than your XTZ perhaps.

I know you have posted graphs long ago in the PSA thread but I do not recall.

I felt the first two movies had tons of low bass in the 10 to 15 hz range but I could be wrong. That is also the area my new subs have a nice bump due to port tune

I always wipe the discs off carefully with a microfiber before playing. I've found that new from the shrink wrap discs often have one or two little specs of debris on them which seems to be enough to cause players to freeze when playing them.

Good idea with Gods of Egypt. I'm extracting it now, and I'll do it along with the two Titans movies tomorrow, while continuing to work my way through my collection.
Aron....major props for all your effort, time and dedication to craft these movie soundtracks for us TR junkies.

Great to see Gods of Egypt and the two Titans movies will be on the list soon.

On the road to 1,000 films, if you're looking for more BEQ candidates, below is a list of movies I recently remuxed with great hidden ULF content.

King Kong (2005)
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter
Max Payne
Warcraft
Lone Ranger (2013)
Speed Racer
Three Days to Kill
Age of Adeline
The remaining Underworld Series
The remaining Resident Evil Series
The Percy Jackson Series

There could also be a thin layer of clear residue on UHD BR disks, left over from the pressing process, but I just give it a quick look and pop it in if I don't see anything, then give it a good wipe with a clean microfiber cloth if I encounter any issues.

Just a heads up (and I apologize if this is the wrong place to do this) but there a ton of 4K blu-ray's on sale for like $11 for Prime Day. The Fast and Furious set is $45 and the Transformers set is $48. Just click on "DVD and Blu-Ray" then "4K Movies and TV shows." The prices are good, but you save another 20% when you add it to your cart. Many of the bassfest movies discussed here and the "best bass" thread are pretty cheap today.

SPEAKERS: 3 x DIYSG 1099's LCR; DIYSG HTM 6's and 8's surround; 4 x RSL C34E's atmos.
SUBS: 4 x UM18-22 Mini Marty's (and always building, currently working on Devastators).
SIGNAL CHAIN: Denon X4400; Minidsp 2x4 HD; 2 x Jensen Iso Sub 2RX; 2 x NX6000d.
