I’ve started watching all the MCU’s in order that was listed not too long ago. Started with Captain America : First Avenger a couple weeks ago and was awesome!!! Then watched Captain Marvel yesterday, even though I had already seen it twice (one by myself and once with my father in law). Then watched the first Iron Man today as well.

Holy crap was it ever fun watching all these in UHD with Atmos and BEQ!!!!!

I thought yesterday’s Captain Marvel had an insanely good soundtrack (Bass and Atmos) with a killer picture. I liked the movie a lot as well, even as a 3rd viewing. Watched at -10mv on this one from the UHD disc, which seemed just about the right loudness for me on this one, and Holy heck, what an awesome Bass track with BEQ!!!!

Today was Iron Man and streamed from Disney+ 4K with Atmos on the ATV4K since I don’t own the UHD disc. Watched at -10mv (which would be about -15mv from the UHD played through the Oppo from my experiments from last week’s Avengers: End Game UHD disc vs Streamed UHD on Disney+ through the ATV4K, where I found there to be about a 5db level diff between the two).

The Bass and ULF in this one BLEW MY MIND!!!! Hahahaha. I mean just freaking WOW, I was not expecting that. BEQ on this track unleashes a crazy ULF and overall BASS BEAST!!! So many scenes in this one could be used for fantastic demo material. One scene I thoroughly enjoyed and just thought was soooooooo cool, was when he was starting to Test and fly his new Iron Man suit in his workshop. The Bass just TOTALLY energized the room with HUGE and POWERFUL bass sound and feel. TR out the wazzoo that just felt so realistic. I loved this one so much that I played with it a bit, at my lower night time listening level and what I watched at today (5 db louder). Cool thing is, it felt just as awesome at the lower MV level, just more intense 5db louder. COOL, COOl, COOL!!!

It’s been forever since I’ve seen the first Iron Man and was just so cool to see how Stark got his start with the suit and all that again. The Atmos was pretty darn good in a lot of places as well. Throw in a real nice picture and I don’t think I could have asked for a better experience

I’m SO looking forward to the rest of them now!!! Next up probably sometime this week is Iron Man 2. I’m thinking it’ll be just as good, as BEQ, UHD and Atmos just makes these Marvels such an awesome experience. WOOHOO!!!!!

Aight, that it, just wanted to share some BEQ Marvel fun

The original version and only the first three. I don't want the other 6, especially the garbage that is the sequel trilogy.

Agreed!! Although, minus Jar-Jar, I liked Ep.1. Ep.3 would've been better if it were about an hour shorter (they could have cut the Mustafar scene down a bit and probably achieved this. Lol). Lastly, Ep. 7 wasn't bad either...they can have the rest.

7 wasn't horrible but it was typical Jar Jar Abrams where it had nothing original, was all memberberries, and quickly forgotten. It's fast food. I also hate the way Han was portrayed in it. It was the start of ruining the OT characters and destroying their arcs.

I don't have any good feelings about 7 and 8 to be honest for a lot of reasons, not wanting to get into fights or incense anyone. The prequels though, 1-3, although clumsy in execution, I do quite enjoy watching them when doing it from the perspective of enjoying the whole arc as "How Palpatine Played Both Sides of the Universe and Seized Ultimate Control"... A well played long game...

7 wasn’t bad but 8 was inexcusably poor IMHO, not much to like. Making our way up to it before seeing the “final” chapter in the theater next month. Hopefully the 4K Disc of Episode 8 looks good on the new OLED and provides some fun impact with a little BEQ help. Have tickets for the new one at our local Atmos theater, but quite frankly looking forward to the new JW soundtrack more than anything.

I’d still pay good money for a 4K box set even without originals of Episodes IV - VI....all of which have decent bass and sound. Episodes V and VI benefited greatly from BEQ. Didn’t care for BEQ on Episode IV on my system/room. Just too much and felt it had plenty of impact without. YMMV. Will believe the box set rumors when there is an official announcement of a release date.

I'm actually one of the few that enjoyed the nostalgia ladened antics in 7. But, I will say that if I hear another "WHOOOO!" again, I'm going to vomit. Lol

I do own IV-VII, but I honestly don't see myself purchasing anything else in the saga unless it's the 3 originals in all of their original glory.

Iron Man 1 is my fav bass movie of all the Marvels!! T.I.H comes 2nd and maybe even 3rd since I've watched that movie waaaaaay too many times in the last 10 years that I think I've just played it out. I've had Iron Man (BD) in my cart for almost a year now lol. Want the 4k but waiting for the price to drop. I also haven't watched Iron Man with BEQ either so that should be amazing!

A friend gave me their Disney+ (I rarely stream anything) but my OLED can't open the app cuz it needs an update that I read did more harm than good and since you can't roll back on updates I don't want to be stuck with any issues that might arise from updating just to watch Disney+. Plus, I don't have a ATV4K so I wouldn't be enjoying the Atmos on Xbox 1X.

I would say in the last 3 months Kong Skull Island became my new go-to demo for new guests and old ones who haven't been back in a while.

The very first bass scene (idk the time stamp but it looks around the 3min mark) is just crazy but also mainly cuz it comes outta nowhere and it only lasts about 5 seconds. I've had ppl jump with fear who weren't expecting it lol. And then of course i follow this with the palm tree thru the helicopter scene and end at the chest slam (pun intended lol)

If it's been a while I def recommend you at least check out those 2 scenes again!!

Cool, yeah it amazed me just how much I enjoyed this first Iron Man and am glad Iron Man 2 comes next!!

This one just seemed so hardcore with BEQ in a lot of areas. One scene that is super memorable for this and was just so cool as well was towards the end when Jeff Bridges was coming up through the ground behind Pepper in his GIANT armored bot suit. I don’t even know how to describe it other than OMFG!!!! Its so crazy with intensity and power and is Full Band. There is a small section towards the end of this scene that really wobbles the heck out of you down low that really stands out to finish it off. Looks like it’s 5hz in the heat map and definitely feels like some huge single digits.

Yeah you might just hold off Disney+ if you can’t get the Atmos and would suck if it caused some problems. There is a lot of Marvels on there though. Surprised me how many. I’ll probably end up watching most of them in the series on there since I don’t have the UHD discs. The ones I do have, I’ll use the discs, but I couldn’t tell any diff the other day comparing the UHD disc vs Disney+ UHD streaming on Avengers: End Game (other than needing 5db more on the MV to level match).

Guys, do me a favor when you get a chance, can you play JW2 starting at minute 58 and JW3 starting at minute 1:38 (with the right beq filters loaded for each movie of course) at the same MV and bass level (Read: LOUD) and tell me which one you prefer? @imureh and I have disagreement but we listen on different systems/rooms. Both scenes are freaking insane and are some of my favorite demo clips. TIA.

Both scenes are freaking insane and are some of my favorite demo clips. TIA.

Lol. I think it was discussed when I first raised this after watching the movie. But I am game.

Hi Everybody,

First Off I would like to give a BIG Thank You to all those involved in getting BEQ in its current form here on AVS and in the Future..

I did try to make a House curve in my MiniDSP and import the files with BEQ designer. my question is will the House curve that is listed in the output section be put on top of the curve in the input section from BEQ?? and give me more bass or am I wrong in this assumption..

Basically it is boosting the lower end a bit more with Gain?? I am unsure what it is doing and how this works..

It stated use a Shelf filter is that the Low Shelf setting in the output PEQ section?

The Atmos track is now available for The Mandalorian Episode 2. I have spoken!

What device are you watching it on? On my ATV4K, I only get 5.1 for Mandalorian. All other Atmos titles it shows Atmos and I hear Atmos. Mandalorian description says 5.1 and that’s all I hear.

I just tested it. The BEQ I previously posted is still good:

The memberberries are ok if they're an adjunct to what's going on. Like how they're used in the Mandalorian. It has a ton of them. The problem with ep 7 is that Jar Jar think they take the place of new story. I could really rip into them but I'm trying to play nice like @MOberhardt . I view 7 & 8 as complete disasters though. And just wait, 9 might make them look good. They're going to completely kill the OT with it.

I'm started finishing some things with "I have spoken!" at work. Waiting for people to pick up on it.

If you merged your house curve file with the BEQ files in BEQD, then yes, your house curve will be active on the outputs. If you are just importing the BEQ files into the MiniDSP, your outputs will have nothing on them.
