The Speed ones are in mine, but Speed 1 was pretty noisy down low, so I tend not to boost, so perhaps Aaron will have a better take

None the less, for those that haven't seen it yet you are missing out on a bass fest!! So many different types of bass used, unlike Aquaman that just hits you with the same bass for 2 hours. Who ever was in charge of the audio in this movie did a phenomenal job. And with BEQ it instantly competes with some of the big dogs!

There aren't too many bass fests in the 80 min category besides '9' and 'Earth To Echo'...add this to that list!

@GeoJustGeo reported that the MV adjustment seems too hot. I checked the full-range graph, and based on the peaks in our most sensitive area of 1-5kHz, it looks like one of those that R128 analysis doesn't get right and is more like a 0 MV adjustment. Here's an alternative 0 MV BEQ until more testing is done:
Spoiler!
I think i figured out why the mv adjustment was off. This graph seems to be for another movie. This movie is only 1hr 21min, but this graph shows 1hr 38ish.

I tried watching it again today with the mv 0 BEQ in the spoiler, its even crazier! With the last BEQ i had to make a mv adjustment of -3, and with this one i had to do -6. So i watched it at mv -18 which is 6db away from my norm mv -12. For reference, I've watched TIH (without BEQ) and the EOT intro at mv -12, I'll admit TIH was way too loud and it was more comfortable at mv -15. I've watched Oblivion and World War Z grenade sxene with BEQ at recommended mv and those were perfect.

For me to do an adjustment of -3 and even -6 with this movie even tho the recommended is a 0 or even a +4 means something is very wrong. The graph without BEQ doesn't even match what im feeling.

With all that being said, you guys that have crazy systems would have a field day with this movie!!!! Without the credits this movie is only 1hr and 15 min! I cant stress this enough, its a must own bass fest!!!! It's usually on Amazon for $5 including shipping, but the price recently went up. I'd hold off till it comes back down.

Normally I would, but goodness grief I couldn't make it all the way through that film... I just wasn't feeling it, which is odd because I usually like Halle Berry.

Yeah I've heard a few people say they didn't like it either. It's a shame cuz with these incorrect BEQ's it is amazing in the bass department, it competes with all the other well known bass movies imo.

Hurricane Heist was so cheesy to me to bass couldn't save it. Aquaman was the same for me the first time around, i couldn't stand it. Watched it a 2nd time and ended up seeing what the hype was about. I think Shelby has mentioned before how different days affect our perception of a movie, and i think i somewhat agree with that.

There's no way i can be the only one in here who owns/likes Kidnap tho, or am i? lol

There are apparently two different DTS-HD MA 5.1 tracks (and cuts) for this title. This is the first time I've ever encountered this, outside of the normal Theatrical vs. Director's Cut vs. Extended Edition type stuff. It's strange that in this case there are essentially two different cuts but they aren't specified as such.

So the BEQ is valid for the 1 hr 34 minute cut, but not the 1 hr 21 minute cut. I've edited the post to clearly specify this, and I'd like to analyze the 1 hr 21 minute cut and do a BEQ for that one as well, but I don't have it.

BTW I sent you a PM.

Wow ok yeah that nakes sense. That is very weird. So maybe @SuperFist saw the longer crappier more drawn out version, and i got the fast to the point cut lol. This movie really is 1hr 15 min of bass.

Incredible.

Anyone know then if the German Blu ray of it is the 95 minute cut (it is listed places as 91 minutes, which sounds like they list a PAL 4% DVD version runtime).

It's very strange.

IMDb says:

On blu-ray.com:
German BD says 91 mins
Canadian BD says 95 mins
French BD says 95 mins
Mexican BD says 94 mins
USA BD says 82 mins

Clear as mud! I tend to think all of the international BDs are the same (Theatrical Cut) and only the USA BD is different, but that's just a guess.

Edit: And here's a thread discussing it - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=295107

Interesting, the LPCM one is a slightly different curve.

Music, when present, envelops you in a cocoon of sound where you will swear this is an object-enabled audio mix as you can easily track sounds overhead, panning from front to back and around the room.

Blake Lively gives a stunning performance in this to the point where she's not seen as most films like these portray - an unstoppable, fighting and killing machine - but a vulnerable woman who has learned just enough to make it through to her ultimate mission.

The LFE may not be as voluminous as some of the heavy hitters we all know and love, but it sure is swift, effective and purposeful! This is such a good film with an amazing lossy soundtrack that I shudder to think how much better the lossless audio will be once it's released!

What are you finding lacking now for the AppleTV when it comes to streaming services? I haven't run across any issues in a bit with it. The only complaints I have with it now are with it not supporting bit streaming for local contents (why I have a Shield) and not supporting HDR in the YouTube app due to codec support. The later is pretty minor too based on what I usually watch on YouTube. Guy complaining about the new Terminator and Star Wars into a $100 webcam usually isn't in HDR.
Hi. Quick ping on the browser you and @harrisu have been discussing. Did I miss it?

Thx,

Panny UB820, Denon X6300H in 6.1.4 mode, Epson 5040UB, SVS PCUltra paired with a MiniDSP HD and BEQ (of course!)
