He also lists a Pioneer Surround Elite Atmos Soundbar FS-EB70.

But most importantly, he has a Pioneer SW10 subwoofer that begins at 30 Hz.

It's no wonder he said the bass was awesome because he didn't have the equipment to distinguish a difference between the ULF on the 4K disc and the Blu-ray disc.

Hey there,

Minidsp Wi-DG

With the advent of things and doing a lot of zoom stuff I moved my laptop out of the cinema and to the living room. I found I wasn't watching movies because of moving it and a recent 55" Oled with 7.2.4 living room setup over the 120" fully eq'd 7.2.4 boss, buttkicker BEQ set-up of awesomeness.

So I got a Wi-Dg shipped over and I've just set it up. Bit of a faff

Needed to plug ethernet to laptop, go to the ip address, kick the thing and get it to recognise the home wifi, set to station mode and all that.

I *LOATH* iTunes with a passion and didn't want it on the laptop, but it's JUST for the wifi name....The 2x4HD doesn't even use the wifi name anyway!!!

And also reading through older docs, Win7 had the same issue as Win10 and back then they said to install Bonjour (5.2meg far less bloat) - I did that and I can use the wifi name, but quite why i bothered i'm not sure - https://support.apple.com/kb/dl999?locale=en_US - For bonjour if you hate iTunes as much as me - The simple answer is just use the IP address, pick it off your home router when it connects or use the app.

The app is pretty nice and means the remote i also got will probably go for use in the DRC88a instead - However i did notice a slight trip me up....Log into the app and the PC software fails, kill the app and bingo. Basically one connection at a time, makes sense really, but it did make me think a second!

Ray, when you quote Aron's post, you want to add in the name of the movie or we have no clue which movie

It's been fixed in the repo now.

While Sony SSCSE are Atmos speakers I wouldn't call them appropriate for a reviewer. If you're reviewing audio you should have proper equipment to do it and not bouncy atmos. While it's better than nothing, it's not going to give as true of a picture of the sound quality.

I watched Midway last night and when I was loading up the BEQ filters I noticed there were 2 for this movie - both for Atmos. What is/was the difference other than the -4.5 volume?

IIRC I tested it and the MV just seemed way too low with the adjustment, so I revised it back up.

If you're using BEQDesigner, there is a bug in the git library that we use that causes files to not be removed if their filename changes. So you'll see duplicates from time to time due to it. This usually only happens on updates to older titles from before Aron was giving the MV adjustments. Every once in awhile there's a newer one like Midway that will get adjusted.

If you run into this, use the Reset button in the lower left corner of the Merge window in BEQd. It'll delete your local cache of the files and redownload everything.

They both arrived in the mailbox today, but I saw a bunch of people reviewing them last week. WotW was criticized for losing the very low end FR in the new atmos track, so it seems like a ripe candidate for BEQ.

Alright alright, i've been using BEQ on all the movies i've been watching since "someone" helped me get it setup.

One question though, what's the difference in the folders for bmiller_miniDSPBEQ and mobe1969_miniDSPBEQ. Are there different curves in those?

I have intensions of watching a good 10+ hours of movies/TV tomorrow.... so guess i'll load up BEQ and bing some Star Trek Discovery/Picard

@GeoJustGeo Just watched the Gone in Sixty Seconds because of your post. We enjoyed the movie quite a lot and the bass complimented the car sequences very nicely. I did have to disable one of the Low Shelves there was too much noise for my Hover Boss and that fixed that issue, if your just running subs I don't think you would notice.
