BassEQ Homecoming (2018) Season 2 Amazon DD+

The one really hot hit is at the very beginning of the first episode, so if you're concerned about that peak around 18Hz, just don't increase MV by the 3.5dB until after that hit.

Anyone using the MiniDSP 2x4 HD ever have one of the output channels stop outputting a signal? I am running dual subs seeing equal signal on the input side for both (linked) then when switching to the outputs I’m not seeing any output on Output 1 -Output 2 is fine. Essentially no output from the MiniDSP for subwoofer 1 in Configuration 1.

What is odd is that this only occurs in Configuration #1 - I get equal output (both output channels) on all the other Configurations. The settings are the same on all Configurations - I’ve triple checked unless I’m missing something. Is is possible for one of the outputs to go bad for a single Configuration?!?

If it works in the other configurations then it’s something with config1. Most likely a HP filter that isn’t bypassed.

I forgot to send a message. Yup! Works perfectly. Just want to try and lock in a Static IP as I have found it way easier to manually enter the IP address when using the app or computer software rather than Auto (that can be hit or miss).

Yes, I have one assigned to mine. It's a function of your router though and not the adapter. So how to do it is going to vary based on your router.

For those using the IR remote is their a way to get it to receive commands while the USB cable is still plugged in? I need the USB cable to be plugged into the Wi-DG to load up a movie but I wanted to set a macro on my remote so when I start up my theatre system and shut it down, it automatically switches to config 1 which I save for non BEQ. I figured it would be a fool proof method to make sure I never left the minidsp with a BEQ for the wrong movie if I could get it to work.

If using merge in the BEQDESIGNER app, upgrade to the latest version, and rebuild the XML files.

Cross posting from the Ultimate Bass in movies thread -

Hi folks,

Here's my thoughts on the Atmos vs DTS-HD version of War of the Worlds. I've included some RTA graphs(with BEQ) of some of the scenes so you can see what it's doing in my room.

TLDR - The Atmos track is definitely filtered under 30hz and does indeed affect rumble down under. Surprisingly, I feel the upper bass is a bit more nuanced and defined in the Atmos mix. The overhead effects stand out more in the Atmos mix. Still, that under 30hz stuff is the fun stuff! BEQ helps but still doesn't reach the levels of the DTS-HD track.

My HT: 7.3.4

This is such a great thread. But I can't find the answer to my most fundamental question. Can I use this somehow without a MiniDSP and input the data into my NX6000D's software?

Short Answer - No.
Long answer - Spend the $205 and enjoy the hard work that has already been done by the entire team, especially @aron7awol .

EDIT: actually it will be a little more than $205, as you need some of these cables and these.

Keep in mind that the iTunes streaming track is not necessarily the same as the lossless Atmos track (for the Extended Cut in this case) from the disc, which is the track I actually BEQed.

Yup I figured. Regardless the mix was all messed up. Will have to check another movie or two. I had been mostly watching 4K/Blu-ray but I have a ton of movies in iTunes as well.

BTW, just wanted to report that that sub-5hz !!!! peak at ~1:51 run time is REAL!! And AWSOOOOME !! It show on both graphs, and i wondered if it was dangerous, but instead it was some of the coolest ULF effect i have experienced It comes during the Jedi fight at the area when a plasma cannon or something like that is fired. Man when it hit, the whole couch was in waves of motion, LOL absolutely over the top cool!! Had to play it a few times, LOL.

Otherwise, i have watched the 5 first ones of the Skywalker Saga, and i have to say the ULF has been off the charts!!!!!!!!

Either the BEQ’s are totally restoring all of them to demo glory, OR it is my new Fat Tube HB’s that is just crushing it, because i actually had to turn DOWN the LFE on most of them, which is unheard of for me, LOL.

Anyone else experience this?

BTW2: a bit dissapointed about the Atmos tracks, CLEARLY mixed in a 7.1.2 config, because they ALL have height effects in the top middle placement ONLY !!!! And a lot of speach also comes from the TM. Very strange and un-natural

BTW3: HOWEVER: i am enjoying the heck out of rewatching all of them

Such a cool revisit

Yeah, attack of the clones has ridiculous ulf! I too had to turn mine down! I love the scene where they are in the arena fighting the big green preying mantis!

Hi folks,

Here's my thoughts on the Atmos vs DTS-HD version of War of the Worlds. I've included some RTA graphs(with BEQ) of some of the scenes so you can see what it's doing in my room.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFPicBnYmkY

TLDR - The Atmos track is definitely filtered under 30hz and does indeed affect rumble down under. Surprisingly, I feel the upper bass is a bit more nuanced and defined in the Atmos mix. The overhead effects stand out more in the Atmos mix. Still, that under 30hz stuff is the fun stuff! BEQ helps but still doesn't reach the levels of the DTS-HD track.
We watched the 4K version with BEQ and really enjoyed it. I was getting plenty of good TR with my setup so no complaints at all here.

Man when it hit, the whole couch was in waves of motion, LOL absolutely over the top cool!! Had to play it a few times, LOL.

Otherwise, i have watched the 5 first ones of the Skywalker Saga, and i have to say the ULF has been off the charts!!!!!!!!

I want to say there are very few of us, even on here that can feel that sub 5hz spike. Must be bananas

Nice! Did you do the -4MV adjustment? I might try watching it at -2MV and see how it feels.

Agreed

I just wanted to confirm that in this case it was actually real content, not just some DC noise, or an artifact. And that if it was safe to run on my setup, it is defenitely safe to use for anyone with a lesser setup

And just to test: i tried that clip afterwards without BEQ, and that spike was barely noticable in my setup, but still cool, actually

That is the scene that has this effect !

It is after all the jedis come to help, Anakin and Obi gets their lightsabers, and there is a huge massive cannon fired at them.

Check it out at 1:51;20.
