Definitive Technology ProSub 1000

Does anyone have experience with the Definitive Technology ProSub 1000 10"? It's not on their website, but in Canada, it's on sale for $348cdn (about $270USD).

According to Visions.ca the specs are:

Number of Loudspeakers (Speaker Systems) 1
Cabinet Finish (Speakers) Black Gloss
Multi-Driver System Information Not Available
Woofer (Speakers) 10"
Powered Yes (Active)
Amplifier Power 300 Watts
Frequency Response (Speakers) 18 Hz - 150 Hz
Maximum Continuous Power Handling 300 Watts
Sensitivity (Speakers) Information Not Available
Maximum Peak Power Handling Information Not Available

Seems like a great price. I need 2 subs for my room that is about 3400cu ft and wanted 2 smaller versus 1 bigger.

That sub is all done around 34-38hz(in room).

I'm not sure what else would do better in your region(at $270). But don't expect dt's specs to be remotely accurate.

FWIW:
- My basement HT space is ~3,400 cu.ft.
- My first sub was a ProSub 200TL. Its specs were inflated. Seems like things haven't changed.

IMO, if you really want to do this right you should seriously consider:
- getting one SVS PB-1000 now ($675+HST, shipped, from sonicboomaudio.com, an SVS-authorized reseller); and
- adding a second one later on.

-- Edit --
Another option (especially if you're anywhere near Waterloo, ON) is snagging the SVS PB10-NSD that's listed on canuckaudiomart.com (CAM) for $400 and adding a PB-1000 later on. My second sub was a PB10 and it was a seriously good sub.

Thx. The SVS pb-1000 is the one I was looking at. Will keep going with that :-)will eventually get 2 of them in total.

You can get the rythmik lv12r shipped to your door taxes / duties for the same price as the PB1000 in Canada.

The rythmik is a superior sub to the pb1000

Edit: close to the same price , give or take $75-100 CDN

At $400 that's a decent deal if its in good condition
