Buttkicker LFE Mini Question

Ultimately will have 3 LFE mini transducers. The current amp thats coming today is the BKA-130 which will give out 45 watts at 4 ohms to two transducers. So, once i add the third id have to get another one of these amps to power the third one. Is there a reason to scrap this plan and get a single amp like the BKA-300 to power all 3?

Since the BK mini-LFE are 4ohm and 50W RMS, if you go with only three, you’ll have to wire them in series for a 12ohm impedance and will be drastically short on power from either of these amps.

I’d recommend getting a fourth BK mini and wiring them in series/parallel for the same 4ohm load and the BKA-300 amp will power them all nicely; an odd number of transducers never works well for wiring in this case. If you want to stick with just two and wire them in parallel, the BK-130 amp will be fine.

I wasnt going to wire them in a series. Was going to wire the two parallel and the third will have its own amp. So based on that im trying to see if theres a good reason to go with the single BKA-300 amp versus the two BKA-130 amp

Ah, well in that case then no. Just get another 130 amp, save the money, and call it a day; you can always add a 4th BK down the road should the need arise. The BK130 does technically leave them 10% short on max RMS power handling, but it‘d be an insignificant amount of output lost.
