Question Sub cutting out at mid to high volumes?

I am trying to enjoy my newly put together ATMOS 5.1.2 system but midway through action scenes, my sub keeps cutting out and I have to turn it off then on again to reset it. Even at as low as 3 ( it goes up to 10 and is 75 watt )

Receiver: Onkyo TX-NR575
Sub: Cambridge Soundworks BassCube 10

It's an old sub so its probably time for a new one but not really in the budget right this moment. I'm hoping someone can give me some suggestions.

You are exceeding the capabilities of that sub. At 75 watts, it's more suited for near-field computer usage, than full blown HT. In the interim, turn it down. Then experiment with near-field placement (as a side table or just behind your seating position).
indebtbassfreak and rufunky like this.

It's a VIRTUAL channel unless stated otherwise.

Thanks Ray. I guess its served its time.

I ordered a refurbished JBL 250p for $117 as a filler until I have more of a budget.
