2nd sub need be matching?

Would I experience a significant movie surround improvement if I add a 2nd sub?
I currently have a single Definitive Technology 15" sub, 250watts, probably about 20 years old that still works fine.
Should I add a 2nd 12" or 15".....I can get the Klipsch reasonably (with wireless)....or do I need to get matching subs?

I use the single sub, a DT PF1500, in a 7.1.2 setup with a Denon x4500h. see attached for Sub performance.

The room is large, vaulted ceilings with large level deviations below 120hz with a huge null or cancellation at about 74hz.

Have you gone through a similar experience you could share? Thanks!

can give you general advice, duals will only perform as well as your lowest performing sub. I've had mismatched subs for awhile and its fine for HT use for me. I didn't really notice anything off.

My HT: 7.3.4 Denon x4300h + denon stereo amp, Hsu HB1-MK2(6), HC1-MK2, Pioneer SP-T22A-LR(4), dual Rythmik fv25hp, b1200d, 65" LG OLEDB7A, xbone s, ps4 pro.
Classroom HT: 7.2.2 Onkyo TX-NR747, JBL L5 (LR), HSU HC-1 MK2(C), Pioneer SP-T22A-LR(2), Pioneer SP-C22 (2-Surrounds), svs pb12+/2, svs pc13, Epson Powerlite 99WH

Itn some cases it could be beneficial. If you can eq them individually you could darn close to equality. Its just bass so i wouldn't sweat it too bad if they are different.
