Looking for best option on Monolith 10/PB-1000 class sub

I'm looking to replace the dinky HTIB sub I'm using for a kids setup in basement. Looking at Monolith 10, PB-1000 class subs but really don't want to spend even that much for a kids only movie set up. Just having a hard time purchasing a less capable "budget" sub due to the basshead in me despite the kids probably not caring. Although I will say my older son (10) does appreciate the dual PC-4000s upstairs. Room size (~3000cuft) would dictate a larger sub but again for kids only setup don't care.

So scouring for a good prime day or equivalent deal somewhere this week. I've thought about the Polk HTS 12 which is currently rather cheap on Amazon but having a hard time buying a Polk sub even though it's probably fine from user reports here and Mark's AVS review. However I have yet to see any FR measurements. Could also consider the RSL 10S but it's not great under 30Hz (I know I shouldn't care for the kids but I do). I think I may just be crazy wanting my 10yo and 6yo twins to have decent bass. Anybody spot anything good under $400?

LG OLED65C7P (Chad B Calibrated) | Denon X4300H | Tivo Roamio OTA | Nvidia Shield | ATV 4K | Oppo UDP-203 | Plex server
5.2.4 | Front Klipsch RP-160M x2 | Center Klipsch RP-450C | Surrounds Klipsch RP-150M x2 | Atmos Klipsch RP-140SA x 4 | Subs SVS PC-4000 x 2

I think you're going to have a hard time finding a sub at that price that goes much below 30 Hz. There's the Rythmik LV12, but it's the same price as the other two you've found.
My take is if you want that quality is to regularly check the Monoprice for sales, or SVS outlet to at least get it closer to $400 if you really want the lower extension.
It's not much of discount, but Crutchfield has a PB1000 open box.

ETA:
Check your PM... There's an open box PB-1000 from an authorized dealer within spitting distance of $400.

Spoiler!

Thanks and for the PM. Yes I certainly realize I'm asking for something that typically doesn't exist. Just figured this is the week to potentially find something.

IMO the best option is to bite the bullet and get a Monolith 10" or PB-1000.

Next best might be a well-rated BIC PL-200 II for $249 at amazon.com.

Here's a good review of that sub.

If you're having a hard time deciding between the SVS and Monoprice, if I were in your situation I would probably go for the Monoprice as you already have SVS ported subs and I'd be curious to see how the Monolith sound signature compares to SVS. And the port is in the middle which looks nicer IMO.

With regards to customer service, you're obviously in better hands with SVS.

I'd be looking at the used market and also the SVS outlet. There's a few PB-1000s available in the outlet: https://www.svsound.com/collections/outlet-specials/price_under-$500

Thanks. Agree curious about the monolith sound yet more comfortable with SVS for any issues. I’ve been eying the outlet pb-1000s. I should get another 5% return customer discount too. Not in a rush so will keep watching for now. I’m sure more will come up if these sell.

I have a pair of both the Monolith THX Select 10 and PB-1000. Both are good subs in small/medium sized rooms, but the Monolith is the better overall sub in both build quality and performance. The Monolith 10 is most comparable to the PB12-NSD from my experience. I paid I think $420 and $375 for the Monolith subs, new. The SVS subs were both below $400, like $365 and $380, but both were outlet/like new. Point being I wouldn't pay the full $500 for either. If you can wait it out until Memorial Day I'm sure there will be some sales. If Monoprice ever does that $125 off deal again, the Monolith THX Select 10 for $375 is a smokin' deal.

Thanks. I have no doubt the monolith is the better sub in large part due to your impressions over the last year. Either will suffice for a kids only setup. Just need to wait for a good deal like you have gotten. Also would have to somehow explain to the significant other why any new sub at all is needed for the kids when they only occasionally watch there. I don’t actually have a good reason other than my own mental need to have a decent sounding system for them. Right now it’s a 2011 (but high end at the time) Samsung plasma with old htib Polk stuff but moving over my Polk RTiA3s and CSiA6 that were in living room but currently unused. It just would seem sad to have that set up with no real sub.

Well looks like the wait for a deal didn't take long. The Monolith 10 is on sale from Monoprice via rakuten.com for $450. Better yet, rakuten currently has 20% back in points on every purchase. so when the subwoofer ships you get a few cent shy of $100 back to be used on a future purchase. That's a heck of a deal. Code for the discount is MN10.

I saw that deal a few days ago too. I don't know if I would purchase anything in the near future through Rakten and take advantage of the points so didn't go for it. Will just keep an eye out for now for other Mono 10 deals. If SVS does a Labor day outlet sale and PB-1000s are there that could work plus can use a 5% return customer discount.

20% points back deal is over now. Too bad you didn't jump on that and those points can be use on anything and rakuten has a large assortment of sellers and $100 in points back is huge, particularly on top of the $50 discount. I've used rakuten many times and occasionally you can find some good deals. SVS always has a Labor Day sale, so you should be able to get a PB-1000 outlet sub a bit lower than regular outlet price. Labor day is a month and a half away, so something may pop up before then. Just keep any eye open.

My son celebrated his 10 year b-day with a movie/sleepover night. They watched Captain America on the main system but then Spiderman Into the Spiderverse on the kids basement system. I asked him how it sounded and without prompting said the subwoofer (the 8" HTIB one) sounded weird. I could hear it distorting upstairs. So I have trained him well. More fodder to get a new one. Not that a PB-1000 or Mono 10 could handle all the ULF of that movie but what they can play will be pretty clean.
