SVS SB-1000 ($499, shipped) has line in/out with a fixed, 80Hz high-pass filter.

RSL Speedwoofer 10S ($399, shipped) has line in/out with (what the manual seems to describe as) a variable high-pass filter ("crossover").

would something like svs sb 2000 or pro consider overkill for 10'x10' room, i'm sitting nearfield too since its for pc. so the sub probably about 4-5ft from me

I wouldn't consider the SB-2000 / Pro to be too much sub for that space. IMO you're better to have more and turn it down than have less and wish you had more.
