Velodyne CHT 15 Replacement

I have a 20+ year old Velodyne CHT 15. I was looking at replacing it with 2 SVS SB12's. I am trying to upgrade on a budget and the SB12's are only $399 a piece... I do know they are older tech. I have attached some older pics to show the space. The viewing area is 14 x 25. The remaining attached area is 600 square feet with 9 foot ceilings through most of it. I am guessing it will be impossible to pressurize the space, so any nuggets of wisdom will be much appreciated.

My question is....Am I making a mistake? Is there a better option under a $1000?

I'd start with a single HSU VTF-3 MK5 HP and add a second one when additional funds become available.

If one now + one later on is not an option, I'd go with dual Monoprice Monolith 10" subs.

I really do want do it right... Are they the standard for subs at my price point? I haven't done any upgrading other than my receiver in over a decade. I appreciate the feedback!

You have a fairly-large space with a fairly-wide main listening position (MLP). A lot depends on your expectations but IMO:
- a pair of ~$1K ported subs is entirely reasonable for your situation; so
- spend what you can on one sub now with an eye to adding a second of the same later on.

Other well-rated options around that $ mark would be:
- HSU VTF-15H MK2 (currently on sale for $1,012, shipped)
- Rythmik FVX15 ($1,099, shipped)
- PSA V1512DF ($1,150, shipped)

The 4 subs you mentioned all have excellent reviews. I have never heard subwoofers being described in the words the reviewers used. I am excited!! I feel that any of the 4 are going to be a drastic difference from my old friend, the Velodyne. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. I have been out of the game so long, I didn't even have a starting point.
