How loud is your Home Theater in dB?

I just tested mine for the first time and I hit 122dB on both music and Dolby Atmos demo tracks with 1 18" and 4 12's. I have no idea how this compares to others. Want to list your numbers?

I had a car that could do 142dB. But I swear that the HT seems just as deep and powerful.

My mic does not play loud enough to really know. My loudest bass was when I had 12 ported 18s in my 1430 cubic foot room.

They are titan 630lx. Powered with an fp10000. And dsp by MiniDSP 10x10. Subs in the corners are the devastator micros. There’s also ds4 18’s nearfeild, and 2 hst18’s in the rear. All subs powered by fp20,000q amps. One channel per woofer.

That is wicked, I have a similar sized room and I have 1 ported 12 and a ported 18 and those are enough for insane levels, I have a sealed 15 and I do not even use it for HT. Those twelve 18's should be barely moving to get to insane levels....

I don't have them anymore, They were ported to 10hz. I have had many high spl sub systems, to me the 10hz stuff is the hardest to get and more impressive. I had two folded horn 18s in my room that could easily belt out over 130 dB from 50hz on up, did not excite me. When I am hitting that at 10hz then it is a different story. I am only using two very high excursion 18s now and they could move some air by themselves. I have not measured their spl yet as I just watch movies at reference with the LFE 10-19 dB hot and they can handle it.

how loud in DB?

in my house it’s not DB that matters, it’s wife level....and it’s “too loud”

wish i had something to measure it. i am certain it is no where near as loud as those who are in this thread.

I have clipped my UMM-6 mic @ 130db in my living room of 2400^3 with 3 PSA 15v and 1 JTR 1200XS. It does about 118db down to 14-15hz and 115db @ 12hz. Modest in comparison to many systems around here, but still pretty potent for a living room setup.

I have a new mic now, which goes to like 150db, but haven't done any tests with it yet.
I have a single Skhorn which is about 4 feet away from my head, driven by a FP-13000. I once tested it with my UMIK and bought the amp close to clipping. I then reduced the volume by 30db and the readout was 115db (LZSmax, NOT peak).
Ricci's IPAL Skhorn broke 140db at 2 meter outside from 50Hz and up. Mine doesn't have the IPAL drivers, but the two 21DS115 should be able to reproduce about the same levels, if not more, at 4ft inside. That probably is with a few db of power compression.

Do I ever listen that loud? No, it's very scary. That much mid-bass literally scares you, especially when it comes with the slam of a horn loaded cab.
The room is an underground cemented basement room with 2500cuft.

Loudest HT? No, definitely not. Loudest HT with only a single subwoofer (cab)? Maybe. At least until Ricci decides to place one of his MAULs in his HT.

Max I've seen in my room from the PB16s is 127dB (around 40hz) down to 116dB at 16Hz.

My old PB2-plus 2s used to hit 126 dB nearfiled at 30hz and that was the limit of the spl meter which started blinking.

Nice. I have 2 Dev V1 using 21" Pro drivers. In the front I have 2 Mini Marty using UXL 18. I keep wondering if I should replace Mini with 2 Devs. How do you like your micro version? You already have many subs. What value are they adding?

The micros came when I had only ported hst18’s in the front and back, with nearfield ported ds4’s. So I didn’t have a monster midbass maker. The micros made a ton of difference in my system. They pulled up the midbass from 50 to 80, and somehow above that, even though my titans are crossover at 80.
Now with the nsw’s I wouldn’t have needed the micros. But now I have them. So they stay.

Which driver would you use? 34mm Xmax is a lot of excursion to give up. Are you able to just add two Devs to your current setup?

Some of those readings while been very impressive, are insane

I got no numbers to offer, since been on the older side. I know that loosing hearing is a fact of life with age, and try to save mine. Therefore, no measurement on my part. While I like my movies to be on the loud side, I do keep it under a comfortable levels. And hope all you guys, did use Double Hearing Protections during those measurement.

Having system that can play that loud, is actually a great thing. Since it mean during normal listening session, it will play with very little distortion. Therefore sounding better, for having less distortion

All that said, meant without any preaching. This is a fun thread to read, and check all the replies. Since so many systems, are indeed very impressive

Hope all of you, and your loved ones are doing fine!!!

https://www.parts-express.com/lavoce...8-ohm--293-732

I have been using only 2 Devs and Devs + mini Marty back and forth see which one I like more. Devs are 65" away from MLP so only them add something very interesting. I can feel more particle velocity and more mid bass and very sharp and clean output. With Mini in the mix, the room gets more pressurization . I was thinking if I had Devs in the front as well using same pro drivers, would I end up achieving both (more room pressurization + super punchy mid bass)
