Hi everyone, I am using a MiniDSP 2x4 HD to integrate an REL T9i with a pair of LS50s for a desktop setup. I am using REW and a UMIK for setup. My steps so far have been to independently measure the left and right speaker and generate some filters for under 1000hz. Overall and Individual Max boost are set at 0. Allow narrow filter below 200hz is checked and so is Vary max Q above 200hz. I have a house curve file added.
: Since the sub is essentially doing bass management, when I go to measure in REW should my output be set to L+R and not just one channel? I definitely measure louder when I select L+R. When I press calculate target level from response it is fairly low when only selecting one channel. I made sure to calibrate the L +R speakers to around 75dB before testing. How do I properly figure out what my sub level should be. It is slightly higher than 75dB if i select L+R for the measurement.
: When I am equalizing the sub, is is it ok to leave the overall and individual max boost at 0? I understand that those setting are basically just 'cutting off' the peaks but I seem to get better looking graphs if I allow boosts. The boosts aren't actually boosting any nulls or anything, it just appears that the boosts are being used to balance out some of the other filters.
: Is this the correct process: measure one speaker at a time, generate EQ, Import EQ settings, turn on crossovers.
I have attached a picture of my EQ settings. The measurement you are seeing is an averaged response from 3 sweeps. No smoothing.
