Sub for Garage/Clean workshop setup

Hi All.

First post on the Forum but I hope someone can help.

I have recently setup a clean workshop in my double garage due to the ongoing pandemic and now looking for a good subwoofer to go with my setup to fill in the missing low end and keep me that little bit happier hearing the low notes of my music while I work.

I currently have a Yamaha RX-V481 AVR powering 2 Monitor Audio Bronze 1's and, (via an external speaker selector switch) 2 Polk Atrium 6 speakers mounted in the eves of the outside of the garage for a bit of outdoor music. I know I could have used zone 2 but you don't get the use of the sub on this B zone and I do plan to get a center speaker and some rears in the end.

I do like to hear bass in my music and when watching films so would like a good companion to help out with the low notes for my 2 sets of speakers.

If it helps, the dimensions of my workshop is: - 5.1x5.1 =26sq meters and the roof is boarded out over the rafters with a height of 2.5 meters

So I ask if anyone can help recommend a good Subwoofer for my needs.

Since nobody has responded and asked the obvious question,,,,,, i will,,,,,what is your budget? Based on your description your not going to get great results in that space but certainly can fill out the lower end somewhat.

Edit

If in your budget, the RSL Speedwoofer ($399) would be a nice option and compact. Very clean and punchy for music, and depending on that space and placement in that space, good down to about 30Hz.

-Marantz SR-8012
-Yamaha BD-A1060
-Funk 21.0LX Master/Slave combo 4800 watts RMS/9600watts (peak)-
-Chane A-2.4 L/C/R
-Chane A-1.4 side/rear surrounds.

Heya,

A budget is needed. Otherwise, prepare for $99 options and $2,000 options and DIY options as standard.

For cheap? BIC F12 ($210).

Very best,

I would also suggest looking at a decent used sub if this is "just" a secondary area. Though the two subs suggested already would work great and fit in with the gear you've already got.

Klipsch RP-8000F L/R | Klipsch RP-504C C | Klipsch RP-500SA atmos | elemental Designs A6-6T6 MTM surrounds | Rythmik FV18 Rev2 Paper Cone Black Matte + Elemental Designs A5-350 Restored! | Denon AVR-S920W | Vizio P75-C1

Budget

Hi guys.

Thanks for the replies already but I should have really put my budget up on the OP.

The budget for me would be a max of about £350.

I will have a check over the subs listed so far and will see what they are like.

Catch you soon,

Hal

REL HT1003 was my end choice.

After some consideration and a recommendation by Richer Sounds, I have decided to go with the REL HT1003 and can’t fault it at all.

Really punchy bass and sounds great for what I need.

Bit over the budget but does sound awesome!

Would recommend this sub!
head_unit and corwiniii like this.
