Pioneer SW-8MK2 runs hot

Unit is less than a year old and I am unable to keep my hand on the metal connection plate. Is this normal?

amps do get hot if you push em. Is this something you've recently noticed? Was it always cool to the touch and now its suddenly really hot? What is your gain set at for the subwoofer? What is it set at in the avr? Is it shutting down on you or making weird noises? If you're really worried, turn down the gain on the sub otherwise let it be and if it poops out then you have an excuse to subgrade

My HT: 7.3.4

Sounds like you are asking that tiny sub to fill a large room with big bass. Not going to turn out well, I'm afraid ...

It's a VIRTUAL channel unless stated otherwise.
