I have a non related xbox 360 hardware question. I have one 20GB hard drive that is full. I have another that I want to switch out for TV shows that I buy. Do I have to setup the second HD with all of my information like I did my original? Or is there a way to switch it out or get a USB adapter for it to plug it into the USB port permamently?

You can save your profile to a Memory Unit, or "recover" your profile to the second hard drive so it resides on both hard drives.

MS "Insiders":

Please, when will the 360 add on update be available on line? I'm getting extremely jealous and frustrated reading how well the update is working then having to watch movies without it.

It's not my fault I live in a rural town without broadband, please stop punishing me.

Hi Amirm
And welcome on this new thread. Very glad that you made "the journey"

Secondly: Do you know, if it later will be possible to separate display settings for dash/games and out put from the HD DVD (or just possibility to switch from the advanced meu), as 1080 tends to look more calm on my 720P projector (Sanyo Z5).

Thanks in advance for your reply

Major Nelson is a good place to check:

Yeh but I am wondering for what. The traffic combined for both threads is rather low so splitting them just makes me have to look in two places and miss a question here or there. Anyway, I guess we go along with the people who wanted it this way....

I have given this feedback to the Xbox team. Implementing is more complex than it seems on the surface so I can't make any promises one way or the other. But you have made the case for it, as I have to them .

I tend to agree with you Amir.
The frequency of posts to the original thread appear to have dropped.
I think it is pointless checking two threads for Q&As.

Was this decision reached because of feedback from people with consoles or was it from unreasonable people who don't have consoles and didn't want to read about consoles in the master thread?

Hi Amir,

We were quite disappointed that the latest dashboard update still does not provide for 1080i50 via component, even though the console actually tests for 50Hz when you change modes, then locks back into 60Hz.

I am frankly surprised that a CE device sold in Australia does not support 50Hz, since that is our high definition TV standard (1080i50). It makes our TV very stuttery, which is a great shame. Any set-top box has to support 50Hz in Australia, since that's our standard.

Could I ask once again to please pass on our request for this feature to be implemented in a future update. I understand there may be myriad reasons why this won't be a simple fix, however a configurable default for when the device is in "MCE extender" mode would be awesome. The XBox could then freely move in and out of 50/60Hz modes depending on whether it was playing games or extending MCE etc.

Many thanks.

Cheers,
Paul Cordingley

Greetings

the separate thread for Xbox/Add on & PS3 is not working out as planned

This Master Q&A thread is up to 162 pages: so we are going to create a single new Q&A thread and close the two existing threads: sorry for another change but it was worth a try

Link to new combined Master Insiders Thread

please take the high road in every post:do not respond to or quote a problematic post: report it
