Plex vs. EyeTV - is it worth switching?

I have EyeTV running on my Mac Mini with 2 HDHomeRun Duals, and things are working properly. I see that Plex has a product that should do the same things. I also see that I would pay $120 for a "lifetime" sub. Does Plex have more going for it than what I'm used to with EyeTV? Thanks in advance!

I guess I have no choice, now that EyeTV has quit connecting to the TV Guide program guide server.
Thanks, beerhunt.

Thanks, beerhunt.

Don't have a Mac, but you could use another program to get the guide, for example, I used to use mc2xml with schedules direct (SD - $25/yr) on my (linux) Kodi with TvHeadEnd dvr/pvr software. In the past, it would also scrub info from Windows Media Center's guide too, for free, I don't recommend doing that long term...but it is an easy way to see if it can be done with your setup. Zap2xml is another one.
