Hi Guys !

This is my setup:

JVC RS50 with an Schneider Kreuznach Cine-Digitar(anamorphic lens) attached to the Schneider motorized Lens-Slider.My Screen is an 157" IMAGE iMasque (4-Way masking) Inwall with acoustic transparent fabric.
My Players are a PS3 (BlueRay and 3D FramePacking) and a Mac Mini with XBMC/PLEX (3D SidebySide or TopBottom).

As you might guess i´ve trouble using the lens in 3D-Mode, because the JVC hasn´t enough "horsepower" to do vertical stretching in 3D-Mode.

So, i´m in need of an external Video-Processor with the following features:

- 2 x HDMI 1.4 Inputs (i know 1.4 is NOT needed for 3D, but it won´t hurt..)
- 1 x HDMI 1.4 Output
- 1 x 12V Trigger-Output ( for triggering the motorized anamorphic Lens)
- ability to stretch the input-video in height (kill black bars) for 2.35:1-Projection with the lens (needs to work in 2D and ALL 3D-Modes)
- remote-controllable

i don´t need any further scaling or video-processing.

It seems that the Lumagen "Radiance Mini 3D" should meet that requirements.
But i can´t see any Trigger-Outputs on the pictures ( despite they are mentioned in the PDF-Manual on their homepage).

It´s important to me that i can switch with one easy touch the "anamorph"-mode. (stretch input-video height and at the same
time give 12V to the trigger-output).

Can the Mini3D do that? Or is there an other usefull hint (the cheaper and easier the better!!)?

Thank you in advance,

Daniel

The Mini3D manual is an editted version of the Radiance XS one, so the references to trigger outputs are incorrect I'm afraid. Otherwise I'd highly recommend the Mini3D as I'm using one with my old skool HD350 with excellent results. Is there not an IR option to control the Schneider position that could be linked with a macro from a decent remote?

thanx for reply.
too bad that the mini3d has no trigger outs.
i can´t understand why JVC killed the triggerout in 3D-Mode.
Should be possible to use them even if stretching doesn´t work...

is there maybe a way to use the RS232-Port on the Lumagen Mini3D as
a 12v trigger?
Or ist there maybe a discrete IR-Command for the RS50 which can switch the trigger-out??

DB,

Could you not 'work around' this issue with a smart remote? Not ideal I admit.

Uwe at Vigatec may have options for you that I do not see on their site. He is only a couple hours South of you. Especially if you were into HD-SDI rather than HDMI.

Ciao,

Thanx for the Vigatec-Link,Vince.

But i found that the Vigatec S1 (indeed a nice piece of hardware and german engineering) is around 12.000 !! That´s a bit too much, as i only need vertical stretch + 12v... ;-)

i think i´m going with my universal remote (NEVO S70) and a Radiance Mini3D in combination with a programmable IR-Switch (which will switch 12V on/off at it´s output).
That´s a bit of "DIY" and fiddeling, but i guess it will work for me... and of course it´s a lot cheaper than an ultra-highend Scaler/Processor (of which i will only use 5% of it´s features...).

All the best, daniel

Apparently, the Oppo 93 will support stretch of non-java based 3D titles (which most are not supposedly).

Get a Lumagen XE3D. Future proof as it can get.

just for your interest:

i´ve finally managed to get a Radiance Mini3D into my "palace" .. :-)
after a few days of testing i can now say that i´m very pleased with the results:

My anamorphic lens is now again fully integrated into my setup - even in 3D-Playback.
I´ve bought a IR-to-12V Switch here : http://www.ir-elektronik.de/index.html

This guy custom designed me a little device with which i can switch the Schneider Lens-Slide On and Off ! That works very, very well and was quite affordable ( around 90 Euros).
I´ve learned the IR-Command of this device with my NEVO S70 (Universal Remote) and made a "Macro"-Button which "simultaneously" switches the lens On/Off and the Radiance 3D into "2.35-Stretch"-Mode...
That works like a charm (in all 3D-Modes , Frame-Packing,SBS,TopBottom,etc.)
So far i´m very pleased ...

But there´s still one little issue:
Sadly i didn´t find a discrete IR-Command to switch the different 3D-Modes on the JVC RS50. So i sometimes still need to fiddle around with the JVC´s menu to switch the 3D-Modes.
If someone has news on discrete IR-Commands for that, please let me know...!! Go on JVC !!! :-)

So far my experiences...

Daniel
