Pool Table as Game table?

I have a pool table that I would like to do double duty. The guy I bought it from gave me a leather cover for it. I also have a ping pong table overlay.
My questions/issues are these:

Naked pool table felt OK/Desirable for gaming? How worried would you be with drinks?
Ping pong table boards have sharp corners and are uncomfortable.
A leather cover doesn't seem to be ideal either.
Chairs are too high.

Does anyone convert a pool table to a game table? Did you buy an insert? What kind of chairs and what height did you end up with. Or is it worth buying a multifunctional table-transformer like Hathaway Park Avenue?

Looking for ideas...

Note: Family still plays pool and ping pong regularly, so I'm hoping for a solution that keeps those easy to convert back to.

I have QYBK Deluxe 4 in 1 Folding Top Game Table. It includes billiards, hockey, table tennis, and foosball. To play the desired game, you need to install a needed game surface on top of the table. The table is made of specially processed MDF; the top is coated with PVC wrap.
